Back in August when I headed over to the Nottingham Lush store to check out the new product releases (see here), one of the products which caught my eye the most on the night was the new Cup O' Coffee Face and Body Mask. I am a big fan of face masks on offer at Lush, adoring their Fresh Face Mask range, so I was pretty excited to give this new face and body mask a try - especially as I've been so smitten with stimulating coffee themed products this year.
Cup O' Coffee is a luxuriously thick and luscious coffee scented mask that almost looks like mud pie - trust me, it's more appealing than I just made it sound! It's not the prettiest looking mask, but the ingredients inside give it a powerful punch and make it pretty darn effective, multi-tasking as both a face and body mask. Beautifully aromatic, there's a delicious Coffee Infusion as well as Ground Coffee, with a touch of rich chocolatey Roasted Cocoa Extract and sweetly comforting Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute which adds just the right amount of sweetness to the scent, whilst Vetivert and Coriander Oil add a restorative and relaxing aspect.
To use you simply apply to your face and body as desired, smoothing on a generous layer before leaving on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. As a body mask it is absolutely stunning, easy to apply and remove, leaving skin effortlessly soft and pampered. As a face mask? Although it's easy to apply and feels comfortable when on, I find it so much more difficult to remove than any other facial mask I have tried and for me, it's personally far too much of a faff to be used as a face mask. That said if you do have the patience, it does leave skin very soft and smooth - but no more so than you could achieve with a good exfoliator such as Origins Never a Dull Moment Skin-Brightening Face Polisher (full review here).
After giving Cup O' Coffee a try for myself at home, after a handy little demo on the night which left me unable to resist picking up a pot, I've found myself with mixed feelings on this smoothing beauty. I've seen a few bloggers share their thoughts recently and everyone seems to be absolutely smitten with it as a face mask, so it's definitely worth checking out other reviews in regards to using this as a face mask and of course, as I always say, what works for me may not work for you and vice versa, so it's always best to try for yourself to see how you get on with it.
As a body mask though it is an absolute dream and I've really loved using it that way, especially on my bump as a pampering mask and scrub which has helped keep my skin soft and smooth. That said, I'm not sure I'll be in any rush to repurchase this one.
If you've given Cup O' Coffee a try for yourself I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, and if you have any other favourite coffee based products be sure to leave your recommendations below!
