Oh how I love makeup brushes. It amazes me that there was a time when I would use my fingers and hands to apply makeup. Oh I know, how you apply makeup is a personal thing and there is nothing wrong with fingers and hands or brushes and sponges, but for me personally, I have found brushes to be superior in the finish they provide and the ease they give in application. Also, it's far less messy!
I love new makeup brushes as much as new makeup and when I find a new brand that creates affordable high-quality brushes, I am one very happy makeup addict! The latest brand to join my ever-growing collection of makeup brushes is Look Good Feel Better, with a handy little set that is absolutely perfect for popping in your handbag for on-the-go.
Handmade using super-soft Taklon bristles, Look Good Feel Better brushes are both cruelty free and allergy free. There's a huge range of brush sets as well as individual brushes available over at FeelUnique, all with a very reasonable price point. What I like the most about Look Good Feel Better though, is the charity aspect to this brand; a 12% donation from each sale of their brushes goes towards their very own worldwide cancer charity, LGFB, which provides workshops, masterclasses and practical support for those struggling with the visible effects of having cancer. You can find out more about LGFB here.
The Mini Masterclass Brush Set (£19.99) features 3 mini brushes presented in a magnetic close travel pouch that's light-weight and slim, just like the brushes, making this set absolutely perfect for travelling with. The set itself includes a Mini Powder Brush, Mini Concealer Brush and a Mini Eyeshadow Brush. Each has a precision cut brush hand which has been made with everyone in mind; the bristles are soft (and I mean, so, so incredibly soft), using Taklon bristles which are environmentally friendly, suitable for sensitive skin and allergy free. This is especially good for those diagnosed with cancer, whose immune systems are often drastically affected by the cancer itself as well as their medical treatment.
The brushes themselves are very, very easy to use. The concealer brush is easily big enough to be used as a foundation brush and not be limited to just concealer, the powder brush is lovely and can be used to apply a light glow of your favourite bronzer or a flush of colour to cheeks with blusher just as well as it works with powder for setting your makeup or touching up throughout the day. The eyeshadow brush has the shape and design of brushes I love using for applying crease shades and is fairly dense, but with bristles that have been cut in such a way that if angled in the right way, could easily be used to apply lower lash liner as well. Each brush is definitely great at multi-tasking and as a mini brush set, it is far easier to travel with than other sets I have come across which can still be quite bulky and weighty.
I'm definitely impressed for my first try of Look Good Feel Better. Will you be giving them a try?
