Nanshy Gobsmack Glamorous Black Onyx Brush Set

I'm a firm believer that you can never have too many makeup brushes. I have quite a collection, so much so that others often comment on Instagram saying it's a crazy amount, but I love it. I love trying different brands, I love all the different styles and types of brushes I have, that each has a different job or can be used with different formulas. Plus, it means I can go longer between brush-laundry as I always have a clean brush to turn to!

There's been a new brand sneaking it's way into my makeup brush collection over recent weeks, a brand that's left me so impressed with the high-quality that I've become a little bit besotted. So much so, I'm reaching for them over all of my long-time favourite brands...

When I was introduced to Nanshy the thing that appealed to me the most is the fact they are cruelty-free and vegan-friendly; although a couple of brushes in my collection are real hair (ethically sourced), I do prefer to use synthetic brushes where possible. Another thing which caught my eye was the price - for the design, style and quality, the brushes are actually pretty reasonably priced when bought individually, but even more so when bought as a set. The Nanshy Gobsmack Glamorous Black Onyx Brush Set* costs a pretty reasonable £34.95 and includes 5 brushes; if you bought each brush individually then you would be spending £49.75.

The set includes 5 brushes perfect for everything from concealer and base to cheeks and contouring. There's a Buffed Base Round Kabuki, a Flawless Foundation Flat Top Kabuki, Angled Airbursh Flat Angled Kabuki, Conceal Perfector Pointed Tapered Kabuki and a Blush & Bronze Angled Kabuki. Each is quite light-weight; I find the handles less heavy than other brands in my brush stash, but still with enough weight for easy use. The bristles are incredibly soft, really well made and each creates a flawless finish with ease. They're antibacterial, vegan-friendly and cruelty-free, PETA.org approved synthethic bristles and all hand assembled to a high-standard.

I can't even begin to try and chose a favourite, as each has it's own job and works wonderfully well. I'm really impressed and love the classic black onyx handles, although they're also available in a gorgeous white option for those of you who prefer something different! For my first try of Nanshy I think it's safe to say it won't be my last - I have added the Eye Brush Set to my beauty wishlist, to see how they compare to my high-end favourites!

    1. Although a little pricer, you can always add some staple Sigma brushes to your collection? These are very, very similar to Sigma xo
