TheVeganKind Double Review | Beauty + Lifestyle

A picture of June 2015 TheVeganKind Box

The past few days have had a definite subscription box theme here on Tattooed Tealady. On Monday I shared a brand new monthly subscription box perfect for all you candle adorers, with The Melt Crowd from Flamingo Candles. Yesterday I shared my thoughts on the June Birchbox, which is a beautifully designed box in collaboration French Sole, which features 7 fantastic products from some really swish brands.

Today is the turn of TheVeganKind to take the spotlight on Tattooed Tealady, and even better? I've got a double review for you all; a full review of the June TheVeganKind box (a teeny bit late with this review, oops!) as well as a review of the latest quarterly TheVeganKind Beauty Box. Both have a pretty impressive contents, and there's a few products in each that have definitely stuck out as favourites. Let's get stuck in shall we?

Food and lifestyle with the monthly TheVeganKind box
Every month TheVeganKind is a delicious box full of scrumptious treats and handy household essentials. The June box was no different, another box which has been massively impressive, introducing me to more cruelty-free and vegan-friendly brands and products.

I've never tried almond butter so I'm excited that their is a 30g Pip and Nut Almond Butter Nut Butter Squeeze Pack inside the box. I haven't tried this yet, but I'm excited to see what it is like! Great for an on-the-go snack, it's an all-natural energy and protein fix in a handy squeezable pack.

I am so obsessed with vegetable crisps, so imagine my delight when I spotted a pack of Roots Hand Cooked Vegetable Crisps with a Pinch of Sea Salt. Absolutely delicious, the only bad thing is that the bad wasn't never-ending!! The sea salt made a lovely taste twist, too.

A brand who has featured in TheVeganKind boxes quite a few times now, there was a huge 320g tube of Sweet Freedom Choc Shot Coconut; a natural liquid chocolate with a coconut twist. This can be used in so many different ways, from drizzled over breakfasts or desserts, with only 14 calories per teaspoon!

A really delicious treat, I loved the Elements for Life Yummy Scrummy bar. A 60g bar of raw cacao with fruits and nuts, a scrumptious raw brownie. I am always a bit dubious when it comes to raw chocolate, but this was so tasty, honestly I'd like to fill our treat cupboard with them!

Last but not least and the one household treat inside the June box was a Peppermint & Poppy Seed Friendly Soap. A luxury natural handmade soap that has been scented with pure essential oils, free from SLS, Parabens, Palm Oil and completely cruelty free. This has been popped straight in our bathroom and is a lovely way to effectively cleanse hands.

Every month TheVeganKind includes a recipe as well as information on this month's charity. This month's recipe makes great use out of the Choc Shot; Coconut Chocolate Stracciatella Shake with Choc Shot. Looks and sounds delicious, cannot wait to give it a try! For June TheVeganKind supported a fantastic worthwhile charity; Rabbit Run-Away Orphanage, a fab organisation which is the first charity in Victoria to be a 'no kill' rabbit rescue. You can find out more over at www.rabbitrunaway.org.au.

TheVeganKind is a monthly lifestyle subscription service which costs £10 a month plus p&p. Find out more and subscribe here.

Cruelty-free, vegan-friendly beauty with TheVeganKind Beauty box
Although not as regular as the monthly TheVeganKind boxes, I love when a new TVK Beauty box is released because it's such a great way to explore cruelty-free and vegan-friendly brands. Although I'm not vegan myself, I love changing up products where I can to more ethical ingredients and methods, and a lot of the products in my beauty stash are cruelty free, natural and organic. I also find in general my skin seems to react better to products of this nature, so it's great being introduced to more brands and products.

The first thing I spotted is actually my favourite product from the box, a huge full size 320g Greenfrog Botanic Geranium and Peppermint Body Wash, which uses organic Aloe Vera alongside cooling Geranium and Peppermint essential oils. I love the scent of this; the peppermint is pretty subtle and against the geranium, it has a somewhat sweet twist to it. Refreshing, soothing and calming all in one.

For lips there's a full size Crazy Rumors KibisKiss Tinted Lip Balm, which I was super excited to see in the box as I've wanted to try Crazy Rumors for quite a while now! A moisturising lip balm with natural colour, it provides a subtle tint which Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter keep lips soft and happy.

Another full size product is a 30ml Sophyto Total Protection Serum. I love serums and have found them to be hugely beneficial to my oily and dehydrated skin. A highly concentrated antioxidant replenishing serum, it promises to keep skin protected against environmental stressors. I have more serums than I can cope with at the moment, so I'll be passing this on to a cruelty-free friend to get good use out of!

Yet another full size product (seriously impressed with how many full size products TheVeganKind Beauty boxes always feature!), is The Wild Witchery Gold Highlighter. A solid shimmery highlighter stick that has a lovely subtle golden glow. It's quite firm, so I've found it a little difficult to use so far, but I'm hoping the more I use it the easier it'll get!

Some more skincare products featuring inside the box is a Zk'in Skincare Deluxe Sample Pack which features 4 2ml sachets. Organic skincare which works to repair and beautify skin, lovely. I'm sure these will feature in an upcoming empties post once I've given them a try, so I'll keep you updated!

As with all TheVeganKind boxes, there's also a fab charity aspect to the beauty box with 20p from each box sold being donated to Dr Hadwen Trust; the UK's leading non-animal medical research charity.

What do you think to the latest beauty box from TheVeganKind? Costing £15 plus p&p every 3 months, you can find out more and subscribe here.

  1. Great post! I'm a cruelty-free blogger and I have never heard of TheVeganKind, I may well give their beauty box a whirl one of these days! The geranium and peppermint body wash sounds especially divine.
