It seems 2015 has been the year of fab collaborations and beautifully designed boxes for Birchbox, and the June box is no different. A fun collaboration with French Sole, Birchbox have created a stunning array of boxes this month; with 3 different designs, each is a gorgeous stand-out box with a matching bag inside the box. I have to admit, I think my floral June box could be my favourite design yet!
So the box might be pretty, what about the products inside? Birchbox have pulled a blinder this month, with some fantastic brands and products. Personally? I am smitten!
Covering skincare this month we have two products, both of which I've tried before and both of which I really quite like! The star of the skincare products inside the June box for me is a super generous 10ml sample of REN Keep Young and Beautiful Instant Firming Beauty Shot. This is a fab little product and a serum which is already in my daily routine; I'm a big fan of the way it instantaneously plumps and firms my skin, giving the look and feel more youthful skin. Full review here.
The second skincare product featuring inside the June box is a Pixi by Petra Ripe Raspberry Shea Butter Lip Balm, which is super handy for me as I just had a clear-out, getting rid of any old and unused lip balms and needed to pick up a few new ones for keeping my lips soft and smooth over summer. A full sized product, it smells delish - although I have to admit it smells more of vanilla than raspberry!
I was really excited to see this month's body care product, as it's a brand I have barely tried but a brand I can't help being drawn to whenever I am in Boots. Another very generously sized sample, I received a 100ml Cowshed Knackered Cow Relaxing Body Lotion, which is packed with soothing essential oils and promises to pamper, nourish and moisturise. Knackered Cow has a lovely scent and it almost reminds me of the lotions and potions used in massages or spa days. This is definitely going to be my go-to pamper lotion for the next few weeks!
Another body care product included in the June box is a pack of STYLondon Temporary Metallic Tattoos; personally not my cup of tea or something I'd use (I definitely have enough of my own tattoos!), but a nice idea for those going to festivals or summer parties.
Body care seems to be the theme of the June box, with three body care products altogether; the final one being a sample of Penhaligon's Iris Prima Eau de Parfum. Perfume samples can be so hit and miss in beauty boxes; some people despise them and think they are a cheat product, whereas personally I love them and think they're such a fab way to try scents before investing in the full size - and let's be honest, perfumes are not cheap!
For haircare we have a favourite brand of mine, a brand I was introduced to through Birchbox and one whose products I am always happy to see featuring in the monthly boxes. I received a sample of the Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Leave in Conditioner, which if I remember rightly has featured in a Birchbox before, but is such a great product that leaves my hair feeling softer, stronger and protected - so I'm not complaining! Plus, Beauty Protector products smell absolutely amazing!
The final product inside the June box, the lifestyle extra (something I always look forward to in each box), is the decorative bag I mentioned earlier. Whatever box design you get, the bag inside will have the same time. But this isn't any old bag, oh no! It's a Birchbox x French Sole Shoe Bag, to celebrate the collaboration, which can be used to store your favourite flat shoes at home and on-the-go.
So that's the June box, what do you think of the products included this month? I'm really happy with the selection of brands and minus the temporary tattoos, will be using all the products included, so it's a real winner of a box for me!
You can find out more about Birchbox, as well as checking out all these products and brands in the Birchbox e-shop, over at www.birchbox.co.uk. Birchbox costs £10 a month plus p&p, my favourite monthly beauty box by far!
