Summer nails with Models Own

I think it's safe to say that Models Own are quickly becoming my favourite high-street brand for nail polishes. They have a gorgeous selection of shades and some lovely collections and finishes, at a super reasonable price.

The latest Models Own shades to join my ever-growing nail polish collection are some of the new shades joining the Polish for Tans range. A range of polishes created to provide a pop of stand-out colour that compliments a tan, the shades are vibrant, fun and super bright!

Cocktail Hour is a lovely coral, Sarong Wrap a unique canary yellow, Malibu Pink is a delightful bright pink with a hint of fuchsia, Turquoise Sea is a bright sea blue and Beach Hut is a neon orange. I featured Beach Hut in This Month's Favourites | April 2015 and it is an amazing dupe for one of my favourite Illamasqua polishes, Gamma.

Although the Polish for Tans range has been designed to compliment tanned skin, they would easily work well with any skin tone - so don't worry if you have your eye on some of the shades but think they wouldn't work without a tan, as they most definitely would!

Like all Models Own polishes I found these applied really well. Two coats was enough for a streak-free opaque finish, although I did find that Sarong Wrap needed three coats for a really opaque finish. They lasted fairly well on my nails, only chipping on one nail which is a little weak at the moment so I put that down to my actual nail than the polish itself! Removal was pretty easy with a good nail polish remover, but I did find Turquoise Sea left a tiny bit of a stain on the nail despite wearing a base coat!

What do you think to the newest Polish for Tans shades? Will you be adding any to your nail polish collection?

  1. These all look beautiful, especially Turquoise Sea and Cocktail Hour. I think I may have to go and pick them up next time i'm out shopping, even though my skin is anything but tanned!
