Since I finished Uni my splurge shopping trips in London have completely stopped. This is a good thing for my bank balance, but it also means I very rarely buy makeup anymore other than the odd thing here or there - there's not many shops where I live and the ones we do have don't have the biggest selection of brands.
As I work 7 days a week going out shopping is also a pretty rare thing for me, and I'm definitely one to splurge more when physically out shopping (like, splurge well over my budget kind of splurge!). Last weekend I decided there were a few online beauty offers that were too good to pass up, placing a couple of cheeky orders, giving me the perfect excuse to share a long overdue beauty haul with you all!
After trying the Daniel Sandler Sculpt and Slim-Effect Contour Face Powder (see here) and falling absolutely head over heels in love with it, I've been lusting after Daniel Sandler products like you wouldn't believe! I'm a sucker for a gorgeous lipstick and the Daniel Sandler Luxury Matte Lipstick range sounded right up my street, with matte finish lipsticks being my favourite. I picked up Marilyn, an incredibly beautiful and vibrant orange with warm undertones. At just £13.25, I think it's safe to say Daniel Sandler lipsticks might have to become a regular treat buy for me...
Of course one lipstick would never be enough for me, the complete lip product fiend that I am. As I'm a big fan of the Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils (see here), I decided to add another shade to my collection. This time I opted for the nude in the range, Nude Perfection, which is a lovely warm nude not too dissimilar to MAC Velvet Teddy. At just £4.99 each, they're a bit of a beauty bargain and the range is a fantastic dupe for NARS lip pencils!
It's been a long time since I tried any Sleek products and one range in particular which I've had my eye on for a while now is the Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream, a reasonably priced range of liquid matte lipsticks costing just £4.99 each. There's a few shades I had my eye on which were out of stock; Birthday Suit and Petal, but one shade I did have my eye on was thankfully in stock; Fandango Purple. I swatched this as soon as it arrived and not only does it have a lovely formula and the perfect matte finish, but boy is this a gorgeous shade! A deep purple with berry undertones, almost like the colour of squashed blackcurrants (way to describe a shade, Sophia). Yup, I think I definitely need every shade in the range!
I've been wanting to try some high-street lip liners for ages, as pretty much every lip liner I own is high-end and although they are fantastic, it's always good to have some high-street alternatives. Considering I have a lot of pink lipsticks I only have one pink lip liner and it's a fairly pale, light pink. I decided to pick up Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Liner in 140 Intense Pink, £3.99, a warm pink that will go really well with a lot of the pinks in my lipstick stash. I still need a bright pink lip liner though, so if you have any recommendations feel free to leave them in the comments below!
The second lip liner I picked up is a shade I've had my eye on for a while now, 011 Spice from the Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Liner range, which is even more purse-friendly at £2.99. Spice is a very warm nude with red-brick undertones that I can't wait to team with some of my favourite nude lipsticks.
I'm a sucker for nude nails and when I spotted Love This Sweater from the Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish range, I couldn't resist. At just £2.99 each they're one of the more purse-friendly nail polish ranges on the high-street and Love This Sweater is a lovely pinky nude, perfect for all year round.
I was in desperate need of a new bi-phase makeup remover and although I am obsessed with the Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover, I really wanted to find a budget-friendly one that would remove my makeup just as well. I decided to pick up two, the Nivea Daily Essentials Double Effect Eye Make-Up Remover, £1.94, and the Garnier Simply Essentials 2 in 1 Make-Up Remover, £3.25, which is for both face and eyes. I also really want to try the Garnier Express 2 in 1 Eye Make Up Remover, but it was out of stock when I placed my order! Have you tried it before?
Last but not least I decided to pick up a few nail care essentials. My nail buffing block was getting a bit old and definitely a little battered, so I decided to give the Leighton Denny Trio Buffer, £4.50, a try. One side buffs ridges and smooths nails, whilst the other side works to shine nails. Another Leighton Denny product I picked up is the Leighton Denny Hoof Stick, £1.10, for neatening up cuticles during at-home manicures. Last but not least and another cuticle related product, I picked up a pair of Elegant Touch Cuticle Nippers, £4.09, something I've been meaning to purchase for quite a while now so I'm glad I finally got around to it!
I'm actually super excited by everything I ordered and very excited to start trying everything out. Expect a lot of beauty reviews of these budget-friendly picks coming your way soon! Have you made any beauty orders recently? Anything you think I should pick up next time I make some beauty purchases? Let me know!
