With May almost over there's only a couple of days left to subscribe to Birchbox with my exclusive reader offer for £5 off. Need some persuading before taking the plunge and subscribing? Let's delve inside the super impressive May box, with an artistic and creative theme of Free Your Mind.
I have to admit, I'm actually seriously impressed with the May Birchbox. Not only did existing subscribers get the chance to pick their own full sized Wah London product, but the products inside the Free Your Mind box are such a fantastic mix of skincare, makeup, hair care and a fab lifestyle extra. Not forgetting the box itself, which is customisable and can be coloured in! Great for those of you who love to upcycle and reuse your Birchboxes each month. You can see my coloured in box here.
Those of you who have been reading Tattooed Tealady for a while will know that bi-phase eye makeup removers are by far my favourite for removing eye makeup. In fact, I recently picked up two high-street alternatives to my usual Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover favourite, wanting to see if a more affordable option would work just as well (check them out in my recent haul here). Included in my May Birchbox is a very decently sized 50ml sample (worth £6.89) of the RMK Point Make Up Remover, which costs £20 at the full size of 145ml. I'm very excited to give this a try as RMK is a brand I'm very new to, and this promises to remove even the most hard-wearing waterproof mascara and heavy eye makeup.
I love, love, love Caudalie and have found myself quite a fan of both their skincare and body care range. I'm completely new to their complexion range so I'm super excited to have a super big 15ml sample (worth £10.12) of the Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturiser which has a broad spectrum SPF20. 40ml will set you back £27, so this is definitely a high-end makeup sample. Available in shades Light and Medium, I received Light which is a touch pale for my complexion but OK for an at-home base warmed up with a good bronzer.
I've tried a couple of lip products from Mirenesse before in previous beauty boxes, but this one has to be my favourite yet. An adorable 1.7g Mattfinity Lip Rouge (worth £5.10), there's three shades available to Birchbox subscribers this month; New York, Paris and Sydney. I received Paris, a gorgeous deep berry that would be better suited for the winter months, but has just enough vibrancy to work as a summer shade too. A liquid lacquer that dries to a matte finish with a moisturising formula that keeps lips feeling pampered, I'm massively impressed with this sample!
Every Birchbox subscriber gets a full size Wah London product in their May Birchbox; either a Nail Art Pen, Nail Polish or set of Press on Nails. I received a set of beautifully designed Going Up/Going Down Press On Nails, worth £9. There's 24 nails in the set to make sure that you can get a full set that fits the shape and size of your own nails, and I am smitten with the design for these! I haven't worn press on nails since I was in my mid-teens, so it'll be interesting giving these a try!
Another hair care product featuring in the Free Your Mind box is a 30ml sample (worth £3.46) of Parlour by Jeff Chastain Moisturising Sea Salt Spray. The only other sea salt spray I've tried before is from Bumble and Bumble, so I'm intrigued to see how this one fairs in comparison. The full size is £17 for 147ml.
Last but not least and the lifestyle extra which goes perfectly with this month's box, is a pack of Colouring Pencils, super handy for colouring in your box and freeing your mind!
What do you think to the May box? I'm smitten! Not only are there 7 amazing products in total, one of which is full size and the rest are all very, very decently sized, but for a box which costs just £10 a month, the contents worth this month is an amazing £36.37, which is incredible value for money! I love the variety of products and brands; getting to try new products from brands I adore as well as being introduced to new brands such as Wah London and Parlor, that I've never tried before. Super impressed this month, well done Birchbox!
