Creating the perfect contour is becoming really popular on the beauty scene, with brands from all budgets creating products to make contouring easier for everyone from makeup novices to professionals.
Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is one of my everyday reached for products that's great for adding a touch of warmth as a bronzer, but is also just the right shade for contouring, too. I use shade Medium/Deep, a lovely bronze which is cool in tone and actually smells like chocolate! With a lovely matte finish and velvety soft powder, it's a lovely product for everyday wear. I have a 4g travel size which came in a Too Faced set, with the full size costing £25. Full review here.
The Daniel Sandler Sculpt and Slim-Effect Contour Face Powder has been getting a lot of love on Tattooed Tealady recently, easily my favourite for creating an effortlessly natural contour. Presented in a gorgeous gold and black compact, it features both a contour shade and a highlight shade. The contour shade is very subtle and cool in tone, which is why it's so perfect for contouring; you can't overdo it with this beauty, but it can be easily built up as desired. It costs £24.50, which personally I think is super reasonable for a duo contour and highlight product, especially when it gives such a beautifully natural finish. Benefit Hoola Bronzing Powder is another one I love both as a warming bronzer and as a contour shade. I find Benefit box products last forever, so although they're slightly pricey at £23.50, they're worth investing in. It's the perfect in between of the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil and the contour shade from the Daniel Sandler Sculpt and Slim-Effect Contour Face Powder, with cool undertones and a faint hint of taupe. Last but not least a kit which houses 3 products for contouring, bronzing and highlighting is the super easy-to-use Smashbox Step-by-Step Contour Kit. At £35 it's the priciest of my contour picks, but for a 3 product kit which also comes with a free Smashbox Contour Brush as well as a full informative guide on contouring, bronzing and highlighting for all different face shapes, I think it's well worth the investment! The contour shade is a light brown with a touch of taupe and cool undertones, which works amazingly well for contouring everything from cheekbones to noses and jawlines! Full review here.
