I have been so excited to share this month's favourites with you all, because boy have I been absolutely smitten with some beautiful products this month!
My one and only Elizabeth Arden product, the Summer Escape Collection Bronzing Powder is one of my favourite bronze highlighters; although it was marketed as a bronzer, for me it's far too shimmery for that purpose and so I prefer using it to highlight when going for a bronzed look. With an absolutely beautiful baked formula and shimmering golden bronze design, it is a stunning and subtle bronze with incredibly fine golden shimmer. Unfortunately this was a limited edition release with the 2014 collection, but it's a purchase I'm always glad I made despite being a pretty pricey £28. Full review here.
I love bright vivid shades for my nails in spring and summer and one shade I am completely besotted with is the Models Own Polish for Tans in the shade Beach Hut, an incredibly bright neon orange that is just super lovely. It's pretty much an almost exact dupe for my favourite Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Gamma - Models Own polishes are £4.99, compared to Illamasqua varnishes which are £14.50! I've a full review on this plus a few other Polish for Tans shades coming up later this week, so keep an eye out!
I'm all about the inner-corner highlight recently and I've been turning to my MAC Pigment in Naked a lot. A subtle pale beige with very fine shimmer finish, it works wonders for opening up my eyes and also doubles up really well as a brow-bone highlight! Full review here.
I recently raved about the Vichy Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation and I simply cannot get enough of this base! It's light-weight but provides a medium coverage with ease, masking all skin imperfections and giving the illusion of beautifully flawless skin in minutes. I cannot recommend checking this base out enough! Full review here.
I've been reaching for my NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Sex Machine a lot over recent weeks, a lovely shade that's great for transitioning from winter to spring that manages to go with pretty much any look. With a lovely creamy formula and the perfect matte finish, Sex Machine is one of those fail-safe nudes that has very flattering warm undertones that I simply adore! Full review here.
A new product in my skincare routine is the MONU Rosewood Reviving Mist*, which I have been using both as a morning and evening toner as well as a refreshing mist during the day on makeup free days. Available at LookFantastic it's a very reasonable £11.95 for 100ml, working to rejuvenate, replenish and hydrate skin. The scent is absolutely incredible; a definite scent of beautiful roses but subtle enough not to be over-powering. It contains a unique blend of Lemon, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Petitgrain, Geranium and Clary Sage essential oils and has an instantly soothing feel once applied. MONU also recommend this as a fab revitalising mist for after sports, swimming, travelling as well as working as a makeup fixing spray, so it's very multi-purpose! The mist on this is perfect, too, providing a fine mist that doesn't leave you drenched and I find 2-3 spritzes is enough for my face and neck. This is my first proper try of any MONU skincare products (other products being little samples from beauty boxes) and I have to admit, I'm really impressed!
There are few products which have left me as smitten as the Daniel Sandler Sculpt and Slim-Effect Contour Face Powder, which I think is pretty much the most perfect contour palette ever. I've raved about this beauty before (and boy was it a rave review!), and I have been really enjoying reaching for it on a day-to-day basis for a natural and perfected contour and highlight. It's effortlessly easy to use and the shades are just so spot on! Full review here.
If you read my recent post on the Habitat Karena Stacking Storage Box (see here), you'll know I'm trying to use up products one at a time instead of using several products at once. I recently finished the Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation Primer, so I've moved onto my beloved Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch - a primer I have loved for years but always keeping it hidden away for 'special occasions'. This is the only face primer I have used for over a month now and I love the way it perfectly primes my skin for makeup whilst helping to keep oil at bay throughout the day. Pricey, but it really does work! Full review here.
Last but not least and another skincare product which has left my skin looking and feeling amazing this month, the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I recently raved about this in my post '5 Facial Oils for Oily Skin' and it's by far one of my favourite night-time treatments. A couple of drops applied to my face, neck and decolletage leaves me with replenished, revitalised and smoother skin by morning. Full review here.
What were your favourite beauty products throughout April? Have you tried any of my favourites? If you have any products or brands that you've discovered this month and think I should give a try, let me know!
