After sharing my morning skincare routine last week (see here), it's time to delve into my evening skincare routine, with products which have helped me effortlessly battle any skin woes and the effects of winter.
In the mornings I use two toners, and I opt to use two toners at night too. The first toner I reach for is the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner, £22.85 125ml, which I use most nights of the week except nights I've used my Clarisonic, wanting to avoid any over-exfoliation or unwanted irritation to my skin. The easiest way to keep skin smooth whilst making sure blackheads and blocked pores are kept at bay, it utilises Tamarind Fruit Acids, which eliminates impurities and dead skin cells whilst boosting cellular renewal, and White Nettle Extract which works to tighten pores. Most nights I just use this on my nose with a cotton pad, then every other night I'll apply all over my face, neck and décolletage. You can check out my full review here.
The second toner I reach for is the Antonia Burrell Forest Dew Skin Conditioner, £22.50 50ml, a botanical toner which promotes healthy, glowing skin. It has a beautiful scent that's very soothing in the evenings, enriched with French plant bio-active Fucocert and Swiss Epilobium Fleisheri Extract to leave my skin looking and feeling healthier, clearer and revived. A favourite serum of mine to use in the winter months and one I've been using exclusively over the past couple of months is the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II, £49 30ml. One of my favourite products for reviving, renewing and hydrated winter skin, it leaves my skin feeling beautifully soft and looking more clear and radiant in tone. For years now my evening eye cream has been the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye, £24.50 15ml. A little pricey for an eye cream, but it lasts absolutely ages and a tube will last me at least 9 months, so for me it's a product well worth investing in, especially with the way it benefits my skin. The skin under our eyes is thinner and much more delicate than the rest of our face and body. Infused with Butcher's Broom, Squalane, Evening Primrose and Lavender, it's instantaneously soothing once applied and works to reduce the appearance of fine lines, puffiness and dark-circles, all whilst leaving the delicate skin feeling softer and supple. Forever my favourite facial oil, the Balance Me Rose Otto Face Oil, £32 30ml, is my go-to oil in the evenings. It effortlessly makes my skin feel hydrated, softer, more plump and supple. With an array of skin-loving ingredients; pure Rose Otto, Palma Rose, Rose Geranium, Artic Cloudberry, Abyssinian and Rosehip Oils, it's a real skin treat. You can check out my full review here.
Just like in my morning routine, I pamper my neck and décolletage with my STEAMCREAM Moisturiser, £13.95 75ml, which you can read more about here.
I like to use a thicker, more luxurious cream moisturiser in the evenings, letting my skin soak up all the skin-loving ingredients and goodness throughout the night. My current night time moisturiser is the Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser with natural Neroli, £39 50g, which I just absolutely adore. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and nourished, with a lovely subtle scent and a formula that feels like silk, sinking in with ease once massaged in. You can check out my full review here.
On those (thankfully) rare occasions I notice a spot or blemish cropping up, I use the Origins Super Spot Remover, £15 10ml, as an overnight treatment. A gel formula with Salicylic Acid, Caffeine and Red Algae, I just dab a small amount onto any blemishes or spots and by morning they are visibly reduced in size, if not completely eliminated, with no irritation or redness in sight!
