Not only is the February Birchbox an exciting one contents wise, but the February Birchbox arrived in a very different way this month...
Birchbox are now offering two types of monthly subscription box. The new Slimbox Birchbox will have the same fabulous and varied content as the classic Birchbox, but it's new format means it's slim enough to fit through most standard letter boxes. That means no more opening the door to the postman in your dressing gown, or having to pop to the depot to pick it up if they attempted delivery whilst you were out. The new Slimbox will fit right through your letter box - and is a box that both current and new subscribers can opt for! Now, onto the February box!
To tie in with Valentine's Day, the February box has a theme of 'Birchbox Loves', a selection of products both beauty and lifestyle which the Birchbox team love! As always there's the usual inserts included in this month's box, back to the usual standard postcard format opposed to last month's little boxlet which I personally loved! This month they cover product favourites from adored French brand Caudalie, tips and tricks on how to get ready Birchbox style, how to get the most out of coconut oil and much, much more. Quite a fun read this month with the inserts! But what about the products?!
The first product which caught my eye was from favourite makeup brand of mine with a sample of theBalm Cindy-Lou Manizer, full size £15. I already have a full size of this beauty, but having a handy sample size will make it perfect for travelling! One of my favourite highlighters, it's the perfect subtle pink highlight that works all year round (full review here).
The next thing I spotted, and a product I'm actually really excited to try, is a 50ml travel size of T London Darjeeling Hand & Body Lotion, full size from £6.50. Seeing this product in the box felt like Birchbox had tailored this box to me perfectly! Aside from standard English Breakfast tea, Darjeeling is my absolute favourite and the scent itself is something I adore. I've had quite a few beauty products and even candles and reed diffusers in the Darjeeling scent, and I've loved each and everyone - this scent is just as beautiful! A Birchbox exclusive, T London is a new brand to me and this product promises to be a soothing lotion packed with nourishing Jojoba and Aloe oils to keep skin hydrated and happy. Perfect!
Another Birchbox exclusive is a Cynthia Rowley Beauty Eyeliner in Black, full size £11. I'm not sure if the one I received is a full size, but it's big enough to be! Another new brand to me, I gave this a try yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised by how easily it applied. A creamy formula with a true jet-black shade, it's perfect for both the upper and lower lash line, even better for smoking out for a smokey eye. But be quick, because once this beauty sets it's there all day!
I'm always happy to see Liz Earle featured and this month's box has a 50ml travel size Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo, full size £10. I've used this shampoo and it's sooooo good! It's really kind and gentle to my fine hair, and with it's shine-boosting blend of Vitamin E, fruit extracts and Shea Butter, it leaves my hair looking and feeling incredibly healthy!
The one and only skincare product inside my February box is a 10ml sample of the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, full size £45. I adore Caudalie products, both skincare and body care, but this is a new product to me so I'm pretty excited to give it a try! Promising to leave skin glowing with a radiance boosting oil-free formula, this one is going straight into my daily routine - keep an eye out for a full review soon!
Last but not least, the lifestyle extra in the February box, I received a sachet of The Chia Co Oats + Chia, full size pack of 5 £4.95. These are available in different flavours, and different subscribers may receive different flavours - I received the Berry flavour! I love chia seeds so I'm looking forward to devouring this one morning next week. Described as a creamy blend of wholegrain oats, chia, fruit and virgin coconut oil, it sounds like a super healthy breakfast treat!
So what do you think of the new Slimbox and February contents? I'm pretty smitten, that's for sure. If I'm honest, I much prefer the new Slimbox to the classic box! Birchbox costs £10 a month plus p&p - find out more and subscribe to Birchbox UK here.
