This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray

As a self-confessed night owl, I am willing to try anything that promises to help me get a peaceful night's sleep.

I've been wanting to try more from the This Works range ever since I added the This Works Sleep Balm, £12, to my bedside table (full review here). Over Christmas when gift-sets galore are available for every brand and every budget, I spotted the This Works Seventh Heaven Set, a set which included 7 travel size versions of the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray, £16. Having seen some pretty rave reviews of this pillow spray, I was very excited to give it a try for myself and see whether it was really worth all the hype it was getting.

One of This Works best-sellers, it's described as a natural sleep aid that works to fragrance your bed and calm nerves before sleep. With a signature relaxing fragrance infused with essential oils of Lavender, Vetivert and Wild Camomile, which work to sooth the body and mind, it promises to help you get off to a peaceful nights sleep quickly and effectively. But does it work?

Some nights when I get in bed and devour some more of my latest book, I read until the point where I'm practically keeping my eyes open with matchsticks, so I manage to get off to sleep pretty easily. Other nights I'll be up until gone 3am and still not feeling tired enough to get to sleep. Thankfully, I don't work mornings so I never have to get up really early and only ever do so out of choice, but I also want a good sleeping pattern because it's better and healthier for both our bodies and our brains (more of that coming up in a post soon!).

On those nights when I need a little help shutting off and getting to sleep, I've been spraying the Deep Sleep Pillow Spray onto my pillows. I usually wait to do this until I'm actually ready to go to sleep, and thankfully the mist is fairly fine and dries pretty quickly, so there's no wet-pillow issues as your trying to nod off. First off, the scent. It is really beautiful I have to admit, and definitely has that soothing and calming effect. It's actually pretty addictive - I have no shame in admitting I've sniffed my pillows more than once to inhale this lovely scent! It's not a scent that lingers for ages and by morning it's usually all gone. That said, each morning after using the pillow spray, I have woken up feeling refreshed after a long, peaceful night's sleep. Without a doubt, it massively helps in getting me off to sleep and a deep sleep at that!

Once I've finished each of the travel sizes I plan on picking up a full size. So many people have called this a miracle worker - even hailing it as a holy grail product - and for me it really does work miracles! I need the full size in my life, pronto.

If you're intrigued by the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray you can pick up the full size online at Boots - with an exclusive online only offer. Anyone who orders the full size pillow spray will receive a travel size with their order, so you can try the travel size before starting the full size; that way if it doesn't work for you, you haven't lost out and you can return the full size. Pretty good idea there from This Works/Boots! Although if it works for me, I guarantee it'll work for you too!

Will you be giving the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray a try?

  1. I always struggle going to sleep - Liam always managed to fall asleep in minutes but I often lay awake for a while! This has been on my wishlist for a while, but I think I might give in and treat myself! But at the same time, I don't want to become dependent on a sleeping spray to get to sleep!

    1. I make sure when it comes to any sort of sleeping aid that I don't use it every single day, so I don't become dependant on it! Just on those nights where I know I'm not tired enough, and could do with a little bit of help drifting off! Let me know if it helps if you do decide to treat yourself to it :) xo

  5. This looks like a fab little set! Love that you get 7 mini sizes - that way you can always bring one with you when you're travelling or staying at a friend's/in a hotel (often when people sleep the worst)
My mum has always been an insomniac and I can get quite stressed and anxious so I think this would be great for us even just to share it!

  8. I've wanted to try this for ages, but I came across a slightly cheaper alternative in the form of Pecksniff's Insomniacs Room and Pillow spray which also uses lavender oil, along with others such as sage, neroli and marjoram. That has been great in itself, but I still covet the This works one and shall endeavour to get it in my collection one day!

  10. I've tried sleep sprays when I was younger and they worked when Avon was still around, but I wonder if it will work now as I'm nearing 22 and more wide awake than ever?

    1. Ooh I didn't know Boots had a sleeping range, I'll have to check it out! I do think the price is fairly reasonable for the size, personally - especially as you only need a couple of sprays for it to be enough, I reckon a bottle would last months and months (I hope, anyway haha) xo

  14. I definitely identify with this post, I find it so difficult to sleep! I've previously used lavender oils on my bedding, and so tried this. Yes I really liked it but it's just so expensive. I've gone back to an oil blend that is similar, but I'll have to wait and see whether I miss the pillow spray!
