The last time I managed to slip my rather chunky legs into boots, was in high-school. I had a pair of ridiculously ugly burgundy red faux-snakeskin boots that I used to keep in my locker, boots that my mother had specifically banned me from wearing, so naturally I wore at every opportunity I had. That was over 10 years ago - and since then I have seriously struggled to find any boots that would squeeze over my chunky calves. Then I found Earth Spirit.
A mid-calf boot, the Earth Spirit Tulsa Boots*, £90, are made with black leather (great for matching with absolutely anything), and come with a stretchy back panel which is perfect for fitting over my calves. The zip runs alongside the inside of each boot, with buckles and silver hardware detailing. There's a very slight heel, 2" to be exact, with a cushioned insole and patterned rubber sole. Incredibly comfortable to wear, they fit like a glove but with enough give due to the stretchy back not to feel too tight on the chunkier parts of my legs.
Perfect for winter weather, I am pretty smitten with these boots. So much so, I'll definitely be checking out Earth Spirit in the future, as the stretchy back which allows me to fit into these beauties is something I've never come across before.
