MAC Fairly Precious Extra Dimension Skinfinish

It has been a while since I treated myself at MAC and today I bring you the first of two products I have recently picked up, which have become instant makeup-hits. Towards the end of last year I really found myself loving powder highlighters, probably more than I ever had before. Whether high-street or high-end, I was testing and swatching every highlighter I passed in Boots or Space NK, and reading every review I could get my hands on. I've managed to start a nice little collection of highlighters, and there's a lot more still on my wish list (let me know if you'd like to see a highlighter wishlist!), but a recent visit to Selfridge's left me with a lighter purse and this beauty to add to my collection.

From the MAC Magnetic Nude Collection, Fairly Precious has become an everyday product with two uses. Described as a liquid-powder highlighter with prismatic reflections that works to sculpt and highlight your face with a cool and creamy near-fluid formula that creatures a luminous, well defined finish. The formula is really dreamy, a beautifully buttery soft powder that feels like silk. In the pan the shade appears to be a pale peach which transfers to the skin well, with a slight pearl undertone and fine flecks of rose gold and green shimmer. I find this works so well as a highlight with a light hand across the brow-bone or my cupids bow and even the inner corner of my eye to give me a more awakened look. Across the top of my cheek bones it is insanely flattering, catching the light in all the right places and actually making it look as if I have definition (now that's a hard task) I also find this is super pretty used with a bit more oomph as a light blush and it reminds me a lot of a pearly version of Milano Luminoso Baked Blush (Amazon, £6.19), which is one of my favourites. It has fantastic longevity; I haven't needed to touch up once when I have used this, and I'm just so impressed with the colour pay off and how true to colour this is. Unfortunately no longer available, I had to share as it's just so lovely - and in the mean time, keep an eye on those limited edition MAC collections, because you end up finding gems like this...

Faking natural radiance

Faking natural radianceFaking natural radianceFaking natural radiance
There's something lovely about a new makeup bag, especially when that new makeup bag isn't a cheap last
resort from Primark, but a gorgeous and beautifully designed embroided makeup bag from SewLomax. I came across SewLomax on Twitter (@TattooedTealady), and instantly I was smitten with the gorgeous designs on offer. If I'm honest, I really love the look of the SewLomax men's wash bags, being tempted to order one for my partner even though he owns no products! When I spotted this gorgeous Snow White Lipstick Makeup Bag, I know I had to have it! Unfortunately it's no longer available but if you follow @SewLomax on Twitter, you'll see there's a new range of these makeup pages being released under a new collection, the Midnight Lips Range (I'm more than a little excited, I love the colour theme!) Currently tucked away in my lovely new makeup bag is my emergency kit. By emergency, I mean a lack of sleep and by kit, I mean radiance boosting, brightening and awakening makeup that's set for any occasion. Let's delve in shall we?

Starting with the products which work to perk up and brighten my complexion, a must have after a rough nights sleep. I'm unlucky enough that even an hour less sleep than I should be getting, and I have big puffy eyes and dark circles to battle in the morning. Step in the popular YSL Touche Eclat (Selfridge's, £25) which is perfect for brightening my under-eye area. Easy to use with a click-pen format, this is perfect for highlighting other areas of your face, too. For a light but buildable base that feels refreshing and plumping on the skin whilst leaving a naturally radiant glow, we have the MaxFactor Whipped Creme Foundation (Boots, 18ml, £9.99) I like to use two applications of this, as one provides a very sheer finish whereas I prefer a medium-full coverage. Very easy to build up, but I'd suggest letting the first application settle before attempting to apply a second! A touch-up is needed mid-afternoon, but otherwise? This complexion pleaser keeps the oil at bay. I prefer the Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Banana (MakeupEffects, 1.5oz, £9.40) which works well to set my makeup, but brighten my under eye area too.

Before I start any of my makeup, I always turn to my Kevyn Aucoin Eyelash Curler (Space NK, £17) which is my favourite, favourite pair of curlers. Amazing is the only way to describe these - giving my lashes long-lasting, instantaneous natural looking lashes with a beautiful curl. Made by the same company as the coveted Shu Uemura curlers, in fact - made before the Shu Uemura ones, and a few quid cheaper too! I have been smitten with the KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadows (KIKO, £6.90) lately, particularly Pearly Shell, which works fantastic as an all-over-lid base, with Smoky Brown blended through the crease. These are incredible and I have a long list of shades I hope to add to my collection soon! If I'm opting for something a touch brighter for my eye look, a touch of shimmer with the NYX Roll On Eye Shimmer (NYX*, 1,5g, £4.50) in Nude is incredibly flattering for a pop of colour on the lids. I'm finding myself with less time to go for full maintenance lately, so instead of powder for my brows I've been opting for the Sigma Brow Gel (BeautyChamber, £9.95) A swish and tidy with the clear side, before finishing off my brows with a touch of the tinted gel, brows sorted in seconds.

Blush has been well and truly pushed to the side whilst the breathtaking Michael Kors Sporty Bronze Powder in Glow (Escentual*, £34) which provides the most beautiful and natural looking glow. It's absolutely enourmous, and not the most light-weight of products so not the best for popping in your hand-bag for on-the-go touch ups, but gosh it's beautiful. Last but not least, lips. If I want a touch of colour I find the moisturising formula of the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers (Boots, £4.99) perfect and I've been turning to Nova, Nude Eclipse and Luna the most for a nude lip with a touch of warm. If I want something a bit more eye-catching, I add a touch of The Body Shop Flavoured Lip Gloss (The Body Shop*, £7) which have a touch of colour and a fine shimmer. I particularly adore the soft pink Rose and glittering golden Vanilla, which are due to be released with the new Spring collection very soon!

The stand-outs # 1

Oh Lola! Marc Jacobs
Oh Lola! Marc Jacobs
NARS Ride Up To The Moon

A selection of products have made their way over to my desk over the past few weeks, becoming my most reached for every day picks. Usually all of my makeup is kept away in my bedroom since I decided to invest in Muji storage, so for these to have been given pride of place on my desk means they must be quite something. Most notably, Oh Lola! by Marc Jacobs (Boots, 50ml, £46.50) has been the one product I can't put down. A Christmas present from my partner, it's been my most used scent of the month. Whereas Estee Lauder Modern Muse (Boots, 30ml, £43.50) is my perfect in-between and The Body Shop White Musk Smoky Rose is the perfect youthful take on a classic scent, Oh Lola! is the scent I have enjoyed wearing the most this month. The sweet and floral scent is a world away from the deeper, musky scents I usually opt for, and the top note of Raspberry is so delicious; it's an irresistible scent. January has drawn me to one of my favourite polishes, Nails Inc. Porchester Square (LookFantastic, 10ml, £11), a gorgeous nude taupe shade that is perfect for this time of year and a fail-safe polish, perfect for any occasions.

I am a sucker for a good neck cream. For me, a neck cream isn't an essential product, but a lovely addition. The product I have noticed the most changes with, is the beautiful Clarins Extra-Firming Neck Anti-Wrinkle Rejuvenating Cream (Boots*, 50ml, £44) A wonderfully light cream that has a gorgeous floral fragrance, this leaves my neck and decolletage feeling amazingly soft. My skin is suffering from dehydration right now and I've been trying a lot of products to keep my skin happy. The only thing keeping my makeup from becoming a dessert-look disaster, has been the Illasmaqua Hydra Veil (Selfridge's, 30ml, £27) Having fallen in love with the Cover FX Total Cover Cream Foundation (BeautyBaby, £24.50) last summer and noticing how much better my base looks when I use a compact foundation, I have recently been turning to the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Compact Foundation in Warm Beige* (Bobbi Brown*, 8g, £32) Applied with a traditional style foundation brush, my favourite is the Benefit Foundation Brush (Boots, £19.50), I can built up the coverage I like - which is medium to full - before lightly buffing it in with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush from the Real Techniques Core Collection (Boots, Set of 4, £21.99) It provides an even, natural, flawless finish that lasts all day with little need for touch ups.

I have found myself absolutely smitten with the Benefit They're Real Mascara (Boots, £19.50) which works so well to effortlessly lengthen my lashes. Not the best mascara for added volume, but spot-on for lengthened, natural looking lashes. To add a touch of highlight to my inner corner, I have been addicted to my one and only MAC Pigment Naked (MAC, 4.5g, £17) which is perfect against my warmer complexion. I've been so smitten using this pigment, that I plan on adding more to my collection soon. Keeping on the topic of eyes, I have found myself constantly turning to the NARS Ride Up To The Moon Palette (Harvey Nichols, £32) - which was a limited edition palette and very hard to get hold of. With six beautiful shades, I have been most smitten with the top row. Finally, we're onto lips and the Lush Santa Lip Scrub (Lush, 25g, £5.50) has kept my lips smooth whilst the addictive and deliciously scented Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector (Boots, £17) in Rosewood Shimmer has been a favourite for keeping my lips really soft and moisturised.

The mid-week pamper # 5

Bubble T Lemongrass and Green Tea
Bubble T Lemongrass and Green Tea
Bubble T Lemongrass and Green Tea

This week, my mid-week pamper is entirely inspired by yesterday. My body decided to kick up a fuss around 4am Tuesday morning, and I was up the rest of the night with a raging fever. I've never had a fever before, but let me tell you, I definitely don't want to experience that again! Today I need something that's going to keep me refreshed and invigorated, make me feel more like myself again and something that's a little bit fun, too, to boost my mood. Step in Bubble T CosmeticsInspired by the Taiwanese drink, Bubble T is known across Asis as a colourful and vibrant drink. When Bubble T became more popular in the UK, appearing at festivals and in towns across the Country, Bubble T Cosmetics saw an opportunity to create a range of bath and body care products, inspired around the popular Bubble T. With products which have a crafted and blended combination of rich tea based infusions, mixed with fruit essence and extracts, Bubble T has three fragrant ranges to choose from.

Formulated to make you feel revived, the Moroccan Mint Tea range combines refreshing Peppermint infused with White Jasmine and Sweet Peppermint, to energize and revive. The Lemongrass and Green Tea range is targeted towards stimulating your body and senses, with Lemongrass, Green Tea, Gooseberry and Pineapple. Finally we have the restoring Hibiscus and Acai Berry Tea range with wild Strawberry, Hibiscus and Acai Berry tea. Each range features the same products; a shower gel, body lotion, hand wash, hand cream, available in two sizes, and stimulating fizzing bath bombs. Over the past month I have been trying the Lemongrass and Green Tea range, and each time I've had a little pamper with the products from the range they have left me feeling refreshed, relaxed and ready to face the day. As I have a lot of catching up to do from yesterday, I know I can turn to these products to keep me awake and ready to go today.

Each of the products have been a delight to use. Firstly, the scent. It is incredible! It's quite possibly one of the most refreshing scents I have come across, and I love how fresh and vibrant the scents are. Lemongrass is one of my favourite scents, so for me this range is perfect! I'm also a big fan of the packaging. Bright, bold, eye-catching - they look great in our bathroom and add a bit of sunshine to the room! The Lemongrass and Green Tea Stimulating Shower Gel (Bubble T*, 300ml, £6.40) which is the perfect way to start the day; a lovely hydrating shower gel which contains a beautiful blend of Lemon and Goji Berry extracts infused with a stimulating fragrance and a unique antioxidant blend. Lathering well, this smells delicious and the steam from a hot bath or shower helps this beautiful fragrance get to work stimulating your senses. The Lemongrass and Green Tea Stimulating Body Lotion (Bubble T*, 300ml, £8) contains the same beautiful blend and scent, and works to make my skin feel incredible soft. A light lotion, gently massaging in this stimulating lotion will help the scent linger all day and your skin happy and moisturised.

My favourite products from the range are the Lemongrass and Green Tea Stimulating Fizzing Bath (Bubble T*, tube of 7, £4.80) and Lemongrass and Green Tea Stimulating Hand Cream (Bubble T*, 100ml, £4.80) The fizzing bath bombs are adorable and I am definitely looking forward to a bath with these later. I like to pop just one in, and so far I've used almost half the tube. Packed with the ranges stimulating fragrance, these are said to leave your skin feeling hydrated and cared for - admittedly, I find these more a fun and beautifully scented addition to the bath, and I haven't noticed any extra hydration from using them. But I love bath bombs and fizzes, so these are easily some of my favourites from the range. The hand cream however has left my hands feeling soft, hydrated and nourished and it's my current favourite bathroom must-have and the perfect partner for the accompanying Lemongrass and Green Tea Stimulating Hand Wash (Bubble T*, 300ml, £6.40)

The perfect pampering and reviving products for a mid-week pick me up. How will you be spending your mid-week pamper today?

Girls night in: Homemade pizzas

Girls night in: Homemade pizzas

For me, there's nothing nicer than an evening spent with friends and some delicious food. My partner and I often stay in (in fact, more often than not), and we also have a naughty habit of ordering takeaway on a regular basis. When between us this can cost up to £25 a time depending on what we have, it's a lot of money to spend on one meal for two people. When we move into our new home, money will be tighter, so I'm all for learning how to have a perfect night in, on a budget. Last night I did exactly that, and I wanted to share my evening with you all as I think it's something cheap and fun anyone can do, a great idea for a girls night in.

I'm not the biggest fan of pizza and I'm picky, having a preference for homemade pizza over takeaway or shop bought. Obviously I will have a slice of my partner's every now and then, but generally pizza is something I stay away from. When I was in high school I had to take Food Technology lessons. Those lessons taught me almost everything I needed to know about cooking and each week I loved creating something new and learning how to make so many different things. My family would always eagerly tuck into anything I brought home, and their favourite every time was pizza!

Last night three friends and I had a girls night in, and we decided to make our own individual pizzas. We each had a base to which we added tomato puree, and all the ingredients we'd brought to share between us all. With a selection of onion, pepper, mushrooms, baby plum tomatoes, pineapple, three different cheeses, bacon, chorizo, coriander, herbs and spices - there was a lot to choose from! Some of the girls had a few different things, I opted for a bit of everything (well, it was a bit hard to resist!) The pizzas only took ten minutes to cook in the oven - so you can easily prep, make and cook a pizza in 15 minutes, a lot quicker than ordering a takeaway!

Once the pizzas were ready we sat down and tucked straight in - with some lovely bubbles to wash it down (gotta love leftover Christmas drinks) The pizza was easily the best I have had in years, it was absolutely delicious and I'm already planning on doing the same for a night in with my partner soon! It worked out so much cheaper than us all going out for dinner, or ordering takeaway. The pizza bases were only £1.20 each (and they were pretty big) and all of the toppings were things we already had in our fridges and cupboards. Making the pizzas was so much fun and it's given me so many ideas for dinner parties we could have when we move, and the different things we could make!

Will you be trying your hand at making homemade pizza?

AERIN lips and cheeks

AERIN lips and cheeks
There's something special about AERIN products, they really take my breath away and I find them absolutely stunning. The packaging is always very elegant, classic and luxurious, and the shades natural and beautiful, helping to enhance your natural beauty. The recent Midnight Colour Winter Collection is beautiful, including everything from lips to cheeks and eyes. Midnight Colour is described by Aeron Lauder as "...rich textures and intricate layers highlighted by deep cranberries, golds and beautiful neutrals, this collection is inspired as much by the beauty of a vintage tapestry as it is the warmth of the holiday season." Inspired by the look and feel of elaborate velvets and winter florals, the Winter Collection effortlessly and beautifully captures the gorgeous colours of midnight.

I've been trying two products from the limited edition collection, and I'm really smitten. The Multi Colour Duo for Lip & Cheek* (Selfridges*, £34) has got to be one of the most beautiful products in my collection, which leaves a really flattering finish. With two products cased within gold packaging, there's a cream highlight shade that has a very fine gold shimmer, perfect for highlighting anything from the top of your cheekbones to your inner corner or cupids bow. It also doubles up nicely as a touch of shimmer gloss over a nude lipstick. A beautiful rich nude is teamed with the highlight, that is more versatile than you'd think - I've used this for both a lip colour, and a neutral cream blush. The Golden Kiss Lip Gloss* (Selfridges*, £24) is quite possibly the most beautifully packaged gloss I have ever come across. A limited edition shade to the AERIN Signature Lip Gloss range, Golden Kiss can be worn alone as a soft loft for a neutral look, or above a nude lip colour to transform your look. With a tiny touch of golden shimmer, a lovely warm nude that feels lightweight and comfortable on.

These two beautiful pieces received a lot of attention and use over the festive period for parties and events, and I think they'll definitely be kept for 'special occasions', because they're far too beautiful to use up quickly. AERIN really is one of my favourite brands for high-end luxury. Both products are limited edition, as is the entire Midnight Colour collection, so make sure you order the pieces you've got your eye on before they are gone for good!

The Sunday Post # 4

Eyeshadow Palettes
Oh Sunday, how I've been looking forward to you! This past week has been super busy. For a change, nothing much Uni related (I'm avoiding reading after some serious overloading on journals and textbooks), but a busy week nonetheless. I had some good news this week, which has definitely kept me upbeat and motivated throughout the week, even when I've felt exhausted! Wednesday was spent in London; a much needed catch up with a friend, including a cheeky bit of Selfridge's shopping and a couple of impulse MAC purchases. I also got the chance to catch up with the lovely team at REN alongside some fab bloggers, at the #InsideREN event. I've been road testing a few new products to join the REN skincare range which are being released between now and March. Two in particular have really blown me away, so keep an eye out for those reviews if you're a fellow REN adorer.

I have spent the past couple of days playing with some new blogging equipment, so much so that I haven't done much else since they arrived. I ordered a soft-box lighting kit and a tripod from Amazon, and it's harder getting used to them than I thought it would be. Alongside learning how to make my set up work for me, I have had the talented Amy from Srsly Dsgn putting together a whole new look for my blog. There's still a few little tweaks to be made, but most of the major changes have been made now and I'm pretty excited to have a fresh, new look for the blog. I have loved each and every blog design I have had, but it felt like it was time to smarten things up, make everything a little bit more professional and simplistic. Amy has been absolutely wonderful in creating the look I was hoping for, I highly recommend Srsly Dsgn if you're looking to spruce your own blog up!

So, has anything changed with this new look? Not much - you can still easily navigate Tattooed Tealady, in fact, getting around the blog should now be a lot easier! The general look of my blog has had a clean up, with the bright and bold blue gone and replaced with a more simple black. Under my new header you'll see lots of pages linked - these will make getting directly to the kind of posts, or pages, you want to see easier. Want to see all of my skincare posts in one place? Just click on 'SKINCARE' underneath my header! I now also have a footer - with links at the bottom of my blog, too. My sidebar has had a little move around, and I've opted to go for the 'read more' way of posting - from now on to see a full post, you'll need to click read more to be taken to the full post. This just makes the home page of the blog a little less cluttered and easier and quicker for you to go through reviews, rather than scrolling and scrolling. I'm really chuffed with the new look and I can''t wait for the final little tweaks to be made.

Let me know what you've been getting up to - and what you think to the new design! I'd love to hear your thoughts! With February just around the corner, I'm going to spend the rest of today practicing for Pancake Day....

A bespoke facial tailored to my skin

Samsara Skin

Is there anything more relaxing than lying back and having a professional carry out a facial that leaves your skin feeling incredibly happy? I doubt it. I adore going for facials and I think, particularly at my age of the wrong side of my 20's, that facials are pretty important for maintaining your skins health and wellbeing. Back in 2013 I popped over to Birmingham to visit Jess and Andy over at Samsara Skin (linkfor a much needed facial. Samsara Skin offer lots of different facials. There's the Prescription Facial which is a bespoke facial tailored to your skin type and skins main needs, after a skin consultation. A Prescription Facial (Samsara Skin, One Hour Treatment £57) can target any skin issues such as clearing blemishes and acne, evening skin tone, restoring loss of firmness or plumping out lines and wrinkles. The Deepest Cleanse Facial (Samsara Skin, 45 Minute Treatment, £45) uses a manual lymphatic drainage massage and an ultrasonic massage cleanse using the Foreo Luna Professional System, to deeply and intensely cleanse and detoxify the skin. The Seasonal Facial Treatment (Samsara Skin, One Hour Treatment, £70) is the perfect way to battle the effects as the seasons change, this facial is specifically tailored to your skins needs at that time, and the time of year, as our skin needs change with the seasons. The facial I was pampered to was the Prescription Facial*. My facial was carried out by Jess and we started by discussing what I think of my skin type and what it is I think my skin needs the most. After a little chat over what my main skin concerns were, Jess examined my skin and we agreed that my skin is definitely oily - but also dehydrated. As this was a Prescription Facial, the facial and all the products used and steps included, were tailored to benefiting my oily and dehydrated skin. I also wanted to tackle my uneven skin tone, which can be a confidence killer.

The first product used was CosMedix Benefit Clean Gentle Cleanser (Samsara Skin, 100ml, £27.45) which is formulated with Gluconolactone (Polyhydroxy Acid). An antioxidant cleanser, it works to eliminate impurities, hydrate the skin and help improve the appearance of photodamage. Next up, one of my absolute favourite skincare products was used; CosMedix Purity Clean Exfoliating Cleanser (Samsara Skin, 100ml, £27.45) Purity Clean is a concentrated, exfoliating cleanser which has been infused with cooling Peppermint Essential Oil, calming Lavender and clarifying Tea Tree Oil. A refreshing cleanser, it deeply penetrates the skin eliminating cellular debris, decongesting pores and hydrating. After Purity Clean, CosMedix Purity Balance AHA Exfoliating Prep (Samsara Skin, 100ml, £27.45), another favourite product of mine, was used. Purity Balance is used to create the optimum skin surface pH level for the next step, which was using CosMedix Pure Enzymes Resurfacing Mask (Samsara Skin, 30ml, £45.24), a soothing mask which combines Cranberry Enzymes and L-Lactic Acid to dissolve dead skin cells and soften the skin. With a deliciously fruity scent, it also contains Antioxidants and Natural Acids which work to gently purify the skin.

The next step in my Prescription Facial was something I really loved. A custom mask made on the spot for my facial, how lovely is that? Made with Manuka Honey, Organic Colloidal Oatmeal, Macadamia Nut Oil, Rosehip Oil, Raw Vitamin C, Rose Water and other oils rich in Omegas 3, 6 and 9. Each of these ingredients worked together to create a mask that was hydrating and strengthening to my skin. An aromatic steam was then used, which was scented with a blend of Organic Lemon, Lavender, Peppermint, Eucalyptus and Patchouli Oils - it was amazing! To finish, a spritz of CosMedix Mystic Oil-Free Hydrating Spray (Samsara Skin, 120ml, £38.10) was used, which is a heavy water rich in Minerals and enriched with Aloe Vera and Cassia Glucan, which help retain moisture. The penultimate step in my facial was using CosMedix Affirm Firming Serum (Samsara Skin, 30ml, £65.31) Supercharged with over ten skin-specific Antioxidants, Affirm is a Peptide Serum used for correction and prevention of photodamage. Last but not least, the final step was a spritz of the CosMedix Reflect Matte SPF30 Mineral Sunscreen Spray (Samsara Skin, 120ml, £39.15), which was a complete revelation to me as I didn't know spray SPF even existed for the face!

My Prescription Facial was easily one of the best facials I have ever had, which was tailored completely around my skin type and my skins main concerns and needs. The improvements I saw in my skin after the facial was instantaneous, with a few positive changes which were more obvious after a day or so. Each of the products used felt and smelt lovely, and I think this is important when you are having a facial as there is nothing worse than a face full of product that feels uncomfortable and has an unpleasant scent. So smitten with some of the products used, I picked up CosMedix Purity Clean for myself and since, have built a modest stash of CosMedix products which I think are fantastic. I would wholeheartedly recommend a Samsara Skin Prescription Facial, for happier, healthier skin.

A touch of delicate pink...

Dior Creme de Rose

Dior Creme de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm (Selfridges, £20) One of the most luxurious lip balms out there, adored by beauty bloggers worldwide and a balm which has been on my wish list for two years. Two years is a long time to lust after a product, especially when so many of your favourite bloggers often talk about how heavenly it is, very often. I have had serious product lust over this little white pot! A smoothing, plumping lip balm, this coveted Dior product is said to be one of the best lip balms out there. It's difficult to resist a product with claims like that, and Dior don't help either. Described as an essential nourishing and smoothing lip balm with a delicate rose fragranced. It's enriched with a rare and precious blend of Damask Rose Essential Oil Extract, an anti-ageing complex, energising Vitamins A and E and Shea Butter.

In a beautifully simple white pot, with the Dior logo and tiny detail on the lid, it's super light weight so perfect for by your bed for a night time pamper, or chucked in your bag for on the go. The product itself is a pale rose petal pink and is the perfect consistency; lightweight but moisturising. The scent is really beautiful; delicate, light, very subtle and absolutely delicious. When I first started using Creme de Rose, I wasn't wowed. It felt a touch too waxy for my liking - but after some research and lots of review reading, I found out there's a thin layer at the top of the balm where it is more waxy in consistency and once you get past that, it's one of the most beautifully lip balms you'll ever use! Yes it's pricey, yes it's a lot more than your average high-street lip balm. But that's where the price for this is completely justified. Dior has been around since 1946 - they know their stuff! The quality of this lip balm is amazing and I am in love with the adorable packaging and pale pink balm. The scent is just so lovely and OK, it's not something I'd use all the time - I want it to last, but when I do use it, my lips are happy. Softened, moisturised - it also leaves a lovely natural looking shine on the lips.

Would I repurchase? Maybe, we'll see how long this one lasts. But I definitely think this little beauty is worth all the hype... and the pennies.

January TheVeganKind Box

I have to admit, of all the monthly subscription boxes I share here on Tattooed Tealady, TheVeganKind really is number 1 for me, for covering so many different aspects such as beauty, home and lifestyle products, all whilst introducing me to products and brands I have never heard of before. Whereas monthly beauty boxes are a really fantastic way to try new products and brands, maybe finally find that perfect mascara or eyeliner (we do get a lot of eyeliners in beauty boxes, don't we?) But for me, I really love receiving a box each month and not having a clue what it could include. The January box was, for me, the best box since TheVeganKind launched in November, and I'm so happy with the contents.

The main theme of the January box was food, food, food. Now remember, TheVeganKind is a lifestyle subscription service for vegans - so everything inside is completely, 100% suitable for vegans, and vegetarians, and all the rest of us too. The first thing that grabbed my attention was a 40g packet of Clearspring Organic Dried Daikon (Clearspring, 40g, £2.49), which is not something I have come across before. Dried Daikon is Dried Japanese White Radish, so it's perfect for putting in Asian food and just needs soaking beforehand. I haven't used this yet, but I will definitely be giving it ago next time we have an Asian themed meal! The next thing I spotted was the biggest product in the box and one which actually made me do a delighted squeal - a TheVeganKind Recipe Ringbinder! This is such an adorable product to find in the box, because each month the TheVeganKind team have been popping delicious recipe cards in the boxes with holes, perfectly ready to be slotted inside my new Recipe Ringbinder. Perfect! A really great touch. There was also a lovely beauty product in the January box, a sample of the Premae Skincare Plush Therapy Luxury Hand & Foot Creme (Premae Skincare, £12.50) which was really lovely to use; very softening!

Onto more food and oh my gosh did I enjoy nibbling through all the snacks in the January box. The Beond Organic Acai Berry Bar (Beond Organic, Box of 9, £8.91) was really yummy and a great way for me to be introduced to other ways to have Acai Berry in my diet. The Landgarten Organic Dark Chocolate Pumpkin Seeds (Landgarten, 55g, £1.99) were absolutely delicious and very hard to put down (I won't lie, I ate the whole 55g bag in one sitting) and the Considerit Chocolate Orange Mini Truffle Bar (Considerit Chocolate, £2) was easily the nicest orange flavoured chocolate I have ever tried in my life, and the nicest truffle, too. But the star food-y product? Easily the Perry Court Farm Dried Pear Crisps (Perry Court Farm, Box of 24, £12.99) I don't think I've ever tasted something so delicious! We will definitely be ordering a big box of Pear Crisps!

For me, the Janaury box has easily been the best so far. I really have loved every last item in the box, and I'm so excited to give the Dried Daikon a go! Couldn't recommend TheVeganKind enough, a really fantastic monthly lifestyle box that stands out from all the others! If you'd like to subscribe to TheVeganKind yourself, it's £10 a month plus £2.95 post and packaging.

Keep your eye on the blog tonight, when I'll be sharing a fab TheVeganKind giveaway!

Dealing with adult acne

Skincare is one of my favourite aspects of beauty to blog about and I love trying new products and brands. I often receive tweets or emails asking for product recommendations, and I always love recommending my favourite products – but if someone doesn’t have the same skin type as me; it can be a little bit harder to recommend the right product for their skin. I have quite a few books on skincare, and it’s a topic I really enjoy learning more about, particularly where different skin types are concerned because it’s all new to me, Miss Oily. I was recently introduced to an e-book that I wanted to share with you all – as I know I have a lot of readers who suffer from acne, who might find this super helpful!  Many people presume that acne only occurs during our teenage years, a by-product of puberty – but in actual fact adult acne affects one in five adult females. When acne can be extremely painful, uncomfortable and affect your confidence, acne can be distressing for those who have it.

Written by Lauren Jane Williams for Courthouse Clinics, Acne is an e-book guide to keeping confident even in times of skin-crisis and when your skin is misbehaving most. Written with tips on treatments that could benefit your acne, what you can do to help prevent future break outs as well as little changes you can make. A super interesting part of the e-book for me, are the facts and statistics. So many facts and statistics about women, how women feel, what women think and feel. There is a lot of pressure on women to succeed, to look beautiful, to do well, it’s no wonder when our skin plays up that we can be left feeling a little less than perfect.

Beautifully visual, I found the Acne e-book a really fab read and I've also downloaded it and printed it off for future reference. It’s fantastically easy to read and understand, the information is clear and easy to understand; it would be beneficial for anyone with acne, regardless of age. But for those of you out there who suffer with adult acne, this is a marvellous read. It’s completely free – you just download it! A must-read for anyone dealing with acne that needs a bit of help in making their skin happier.
