Quick Skincare Fixes

It might be Christmas Day tomorrow, but all the end of year parties are just around the corner. Whether you're having a quiet drinks with friends and family to see in the new year, or going to the biggest party of the year, the last thing you want is difficult skin. Here's my top four products for quick skincare fixes, getting your skin party ready in no time.

If your skin has  been feeling the effects of winter with colder weather and harsh winds, then like mine it's probably feeling a little less soft and plump than usual. Two fail-safe products in my stash are perfect for smoothing the surface of my skin, improving texture whilst leaving my skin looking fresher with a brighter complexion.

The Body Shop Honey & Oat 3-in-1 Scrub Mask is your budget-friendly option, with a 100ml tub costing £10 and lasting for a good couple of months before needing to repurchase. A multi-tasking mask, it works to cleanse, polish and moisturise normal to dry skin by gently removing dead skin cells, smoothing and refining whilst moisturising and conditioning. You can check out my full review here.

If you want to skip the mask and want a product that's quick and easy to use whilst being super effective, then the Pai Kukui and Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator is perfect. My favourite 'manual' exfoliator for going on three years now, it's a product I've repurchase more than a few times and now reserve for skin emergencies and special occasions. For £20 you'll get 50ml of product, but the high-quality ingredients and how effective it is, make it worth the splurge purchase. It's perfect for any skin type (even sensitive and problematic skin), using natural Jojoba beads which gently exfoliate the scent. The formula is a enriched with exotic oils which adds a lovely softening feel to the skin after use, plus it smells blooming lovely! You can check out my full review here.

You can currently pick up the Pai Skin Brightening Exfoliator in one of the limited edition Christmas gift sets, which includes the exfoliator as well as the new Copaiba Deep Cleanse AHA Mask and an Organic Muslin Cloth. The Pai Intensive Brightening Facial Limited Edition Kukui Collection is just £24.50 - saving £29.50 if you had bought each product individually!

If a dull complexion is the least of your worries and you're found a few unwanted blemishes starting to appear, it's time to get the deep cleansing masques out. I make sure to include a cleansing mask in my routine at least once a week, but this time of year is always harder to keep skin happy. There's two masks I'm turning to regularly right now, and both have been my most-used masks of the year.

Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque is a cult product and blogger favourite, and one which definitely deserves all the hype and rave reviews. At £27 for 60ml, one tube lasts me around 6 months using at least once a fortnight. A deep cleansing mask, it has been formulated with superior clays alongside anti-oxidant botanical ingredients. The clays work to gently draw out any deep impurities and dirt, whilst Parsley Seed and Rosehip Seed botanical extracts provide anti-oxidant protection. Every time I use this mask my skin is left looking clearer, brighter and also feels softer to the touch. Suitable for all skin types, you can use it up to twice a week for a deep cleansing pamper. You can check out my full review here

Last but not least, a mask I recently raved about in a full review (which you can find here), from a brand which has been a refreshing change in the way I approach skincare. CosMedix Clear Clarifying Mask is the one mask I can rely on to fix any skin woes. A detoxifying clay mask formulated with a relieving blend of sulfur and minerals. It contains naturally purifying salicylic acid, which helps to reduce and heal blemishes whilst reducing excess oil, all whilst leaving skin happy and healthy. It's ultra-absorbent, but doesn't dry my skin like some clay masks can do, and it leaves my skin looking happier, clearer and fresher than any other mask in my stash. Used as an overnight spot treatment, it's a miracle worker and leaves my skin blemish free within a couple of days. At £34.70 for 30g, it's definitely not the most budget-friendly mask out there. But if you're looking to invest in one fail-safe product for keeping your skin happy, this is it.
