Top Winter Hand Creams

A picture of my Top Winter Hand Creams

I slather on the lotions and potions come winter when my skin needs the TLC to keep dry, tight skin at bay. Hand creams are something I reach for several times throughout the day, I'm pretty sure there's at least one hiding in every room in our house! A simple step that can alleviate sore, dry and tight skin, soothing whilst hydrating and moisturising, hand creams are a quick and easy way to keep the effects of winter weather at bay.

I have a bag full of travel hand creams. It's like I gravitate towards them - it's a great way to try high-end, high quality brands at more budget-friendly prices. The Body Shop has a huge range, with a hand-cream to match most of their scent ranges. I'm currently trying out the Shea Hand Cream*, but I also love the Coconut Hand Cream and Honeymania Hand Cream. At only £3.50 for 30ml, they're a bit of a bargain and especially good for keeping in your handbag for using whilst out. Moisturising and great for your cuticles as well as your nails, fab.

Another brand I love for travel size hand creams is Crabtree & Evelyn, one of my go-to brands for a luxurious hand cream that leaves my hands feeling soft and youthful. My favourite for many years now has been the La Source Hand Therapy which is one of the larger travel sizes at £9 for 50g. There's also a huge range of smaller 25g hand creams for £5 (and also on 3 for 2 offer!) which is the size I always go for when trying different scents. I'm currently getting through my second tube of Wisteria Hand Therapy which has a lovely scent of Wisteria, Gardenia and Ylang Ylang blossoms, with Mandarin Nashi Pear and Musk. It's worth checking out the Crabtree & Evelyn Christmas Gift Sets, as there's lots of hand cream sets at fab prices.

One which I've been turning to recently on days out, popping in my handbag and using as and when I need it, is the Lanolips Antibacterial Hand Cream* £9.85. Multi-tasking as a skin-loving moisturiser with ultra pure grade Lanolin which leaves a light-weight, almost silky feeling to the skin, it promises to kill 99.9% of germs with antibacterial Aloe Vera.

One of my favourite brands to reach for is Antipodes, whose range of hand and body creams has expanded to now include four luxurious yet elegant scents; Deliverance Kowhai Flower, Joyful, Delight and the newest addition to join the range, Jubilation*. With Kiwi Seed Oil, Wild Blackcurrant, Avocado Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Fig and Feijoa, it has an incredible scent whilst leaving my skin feeling hydrated, younger, fresher and incredibly soft to the touch. At £26.99 it's not cheap, but they last forever - longer than any other brands in my beauty stash.

My go-to bedtime hand cream is the stunning AERIN Rose Hand & Body Cream £36, of which I'm almost at the end of my second tube. I'm dreading having to repurchase this again because it is super pricey, but it's totally worth the repurchase every time. I'm yet to try a hand cream which makes my skin feel as beautiful as this one, with a fragrance that is effortlessly soothing and calming, the most beautiful scent of Rose. Using it just at bedtime (well, most of the time) means each tube stretches a little bit longer, and by morning my hands are feeling softer, hydrated and youthful.

What's your go-to winter hand cream?
