The Cosy at Home theme of the November Birchbox* is perfect for me. It's my favourite thing about autumn and winter; the perfect excuse for cosy nights in with home-cooked food, candles and cheesy Christmas movies. Oh yes, I am definitely ready to start the Christmas movies marathon! There's a variety of products in the November box, covering makeup, skincare, body care and hair care with an added food-y lifestyle extra.
The most exciting product for me is one of the two full sized products to feature in the box, Dr. Jart+ Most Moist Water-Act Skin Must (£18). It's so rare to receive full sized skincare products in beauty boxes and Dr. Jart+ is already a brand I use and love, so I'm excited to try this antioxidant-infused refreshing facial spritz. It promises to boost our skin's internal moisture levels, which is just what my skin needs come the colder months. The second full size product is from a brand I've never heard of before, the LipGlam Natural Lanolin Lip Balm (£9.99) which promises to deliver moisture for up to 8 hours (so perfect as an overnight lip treatment, too), with a fast-acting balm using 100% natural ingredients. I'm interested to see how LipGlam fairs against my favourite Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid!
Onto samples and we have two pots of Beauty Protector Protect & Treat Hair Mask (£16) which has the same absolutely amazing scent as all the other Beauty Protector products I've tried. The sample sizes are enough for two pampering hair masks, so I'm looking forward to giving one a try tonight. I'm a huge fan of the Beauty Protector products I've tried before, with a few that have led to instant full-size purchases. There's a lovely travel size Weleda Pomegranate Creamy Body Wash (£8.95), a brand I am always happy to see featured in beauty boxes with a wonderful history and ethos (find out more about Weleda here). I've tried a few Weleda body washes, but never the Pomegranate scent, so I'll be saving this for our next weekend away. The final sample in the November box is an adorable mini Lord & Berry Bronzer in Sunny (£19), a super-fine matte bronze which creates a healthy glow, this is a touch too pale against my complexion so a shade that would suit paler beauties well.
The lifestyle extra for this month was a delicious Montezuma's Milk Chocolate Bar (100g, £2.39). This was delicious with a cup of tea over the weekend, a creamy milk chocolate made from the finest organic Cocoa Beans. Might have to stock up on these for the cold winter nights...
Birchbox costs £10 a month plus £2.95 post and packaging. I'm pretty impressed with this months box, which is worth more than double the cost of the box and features a nice variety of brands. I've also loved reading the postcard inserts, which have pampering tips, contouring guides an introduction to Dr. Jart+ as well as some lovely Christmas gift ideas. What do you think to the November box?
