ILLAMASQUA ONCE COLLECTION REVIEW

The Illamasqua Once Collection is a unique yet modest Autumn collection, featuring 7 gorgeous products including two sheer lipglosses, a powder blusher, a nail varnish and three cream-gel shadows. With absolutely beautiful packaging, the shades are all stunning and a touch more daring than other Autumn collections, but subtle enough that makes each product completely wearable.

The Illamasqua Vintage Metallix* (£16.50) range consists of three stunning shades, presented in gorgeous rose-gold topped glass pots and has completely left me smitten. Long-lasting, metallic cream-gel texture shadows, they have a smudge resistant finish and create a beautiful intense metallic look with impressive longevity. You can apply either with a brush (due to the formula, I recommend a brush with synthetic bristles), or your fingers. Courtier is a lovely vintage nude, Bibelot a stunning vintage green, and Embellish is a super pretty vintage brown. The formula is absolutely beautiful; soft, creamy, light-weight and very easy to blend. Building up the shades for more intensity is a breeze, although I love teaming Courtier and Embellish together, applied lightly, for a subtle wash of colour.

The Illamasqua Exquisite Sheer Lipgloss* (£16.50) is probably one of the prettiest pink glosses I ever did see. An enchanting pink oyster, it provides a sheer wash of colour with a gorgeous gloss effect, whilst feeling light-weight on the lip and with no unwanted stickiness. I love Illamasqua lipglosses; the formula is always spot on and some of my favourite to reach for. Exquisite can be worn alone, providing a stunning sheer yet eye-catching lip, or teamed with your favourite Illamasqua lipstick for an intense gloss finish.

I'm always raving about Illamasqua polishes; they're my favourite of all polish brands, loving the bold design, stunning colours, streak-free formulas and perfect finishes. The Illamasqua Melange Nail Varnish* (£14.50) is one of my favourite Illamasqua polish shades yet, a truly beautiful golden teal with a matte finish (that looks even better with a nice glossy topcoat!).

What do you think to the Illamasqua Once Collection?

  5. Your pictures, as always, are stunning. Any idea whether the eyeshadows can be mixed with a bit of water to make them easier to apply, or does it ruin their effect? :)

    1. They actually have a super lovely formula - it's a cream-gel hybrid, so creamier in texture than most cream shadows and less firm. They'd be no need for water at all! :) And thanks so much Taylor - really glad you liked today's photos! xo

    1. Sorry Tatty, I'm not very good at swatches so I don't personally post swatches with reviews. They are a world apart from MAC Paint Pots, although I love them too! The Vintage Metallix have a lovely cream-gel hybrid formula, very different to the firm cream texture of MAC xo
