I've shared quite a few autumn themed collections through September, but there's one which stands out as my favourite, ticking every box with amazing quality and formulas throughout the entire collection. The Bobbi Brown Smokey Nudes Collection* encompasses everything I love about makeup. Like all Bobbi Brown collections, the shades within the range cover every aspect you'd want, with shades that enhance your natural features, but can also work well to add a touch more oomph and vamp to a look, perfect for day and night looks.
The palette in this collection really stands out and it's a palette definitely worth swooning over. Bobbi Brown palettes always stand out for me in collections, because they're effortlessly beautiful with very wearable shades that transition well from day to night. The Bobbi Brown Smokey Nudes Eye Palette (£48) contains 8 shades with soft matte, sparkle and metallic finishes. Including gorgeous neutrals; soft pinks, pale bone, a light taupe and a white silver nude, alongside warmer, deeper shades; a gorgeous smokey grey bronze and a dark grey brown, as well as stunning shades for pops of colour and sparkle; an iridescent pink and a stunning silver brown. The shadows themselves are very easy to work with, with high-quality formulas and no worry of fallout. They apply and blend effortlessly, and the longevity is fabulous, with no fading, smudging or budging throughout the day.
The Bobbi Brown Sandstone Shimmer Brick (£32.50) includes 5 shades; a pale yellow gold, a soft pink gold, a coppery bronze, a warm, brightening pink and the perfect pink bronze, each has a shimmer finish, very fine and very flattering. The shades themselves would actually make lovely shadows used individually - but lightly blended together they create a stunning highlight which is perfect for this time of year. It has the playful pinks and warming bronzes of summer, with the shimmer and finish akin to winter, wind-blushed skin. It can be used to highlight, to create a soft natural-looking glow, or above your favourite blush to enhance and add a touch of sophisticated shimmer. The formula is very soft, a high-quality powder which applies easily, no worry of fallout, and effortless to blend. I do think less is more with products of this nature, but once you find the perfect application for you, I guarantee you'll be absolutely smitten.
The Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte Lip Colour (£19.50) lipsticks have a really lovely creamy formula, that feels light-weight when on, presented in chic and sophisticated smooth round bullets. They promise 8 hour wear, and just one application provides an opaque and pigmented colour. I've been trying 2 shades - there's 4 shades in the collection -, both of which I see working perfectly with autumn eyes over the coming months. Soft Nude is deep nude with hints of raisin, whilst Warm Nude is much softer and more natural in tone. The wear is really impressive, lasting most of the day through eating and drinking before needing to reapply, and I find the formula feels quite moisturising, too, despite having a matte finish.
Will you be snapping anything up from the Smokey Nudes collection?
