KIKO Exotic Shine Lipsticks Review

KIKO is a brand I've only been introduced to over the past year, but boy am I impressed. Their eyeshadows are intense, their eyeshadow sticks are, in a word, amazing, their body care and skincare are pretty darn good and eyeliners? Some of the best. But lipsticks? They're a whole new bag for me when it comes to KIKO products. I have high expectations when it comes to lipsticks - I rarely indulge in a lipstick which isn't already a favourite, whether it be a particular brand or a certain formula. I look for lipsticks that provide great colour pay-off, easy to apply and comfortable to wear, whilst having fab longevity and rarely needing a touch up. Can KIKO really live up to the likes of MAC, Illamasqua and Maybelline?

The KIKO Exotic Shine lipsticks come in six gorgeous shades with a lovely light-weight gold-effect packaging. I'm a big fan of the packaging, I think it gives the lipsticks a really chic feel whilst still being bold. With an innovative formula, KIKO have enriched their Exotic Shine lipsticks with special waxes and pigments which makes application effortless with intense colour pay-off, but with the shine of a gloss and the comfort of a balm.

I've been trying two shades from the range, and I have to admit I'm a little bit smitten. Think a perfect mix between MAC and Maybelline; the colour pay-off really is fantastic, they feel so comfortable when on and the lasting power is great, but they're also creamy and have a lovely formula that almost feels hydrating. 04 Amazon Red (£5.90) is a perfect true red. It has slight orange undertones, warming and that looks elegant when on, because of the gorgeous shine finish of these lipsticks. 06 Volumptuous Pink (£5.90)* couldn't be more different from Amazon Red. It's a playful flamingo pink that's bright, the colour is buildable and is just the right shade to suit any skin tone. Why have I never tried KIKO lipsticks before?!

The Exotic Shine lipsticks are usually £8.50, but they're currently on sale for just £5.90! You can find KIKO online as well as the in-store.

  1. Kiko are great. Their nail varnishes are the only ones that don't bubble up on my nails, even Barry M look like their bubbling off as they dry. They have a particularly nice cornflower blue colour I love.
My year long lipstick buying ban ends on the 15th and I'll be in Florence near their store there, you've made them sound really tempting
