Taking a break from the beauty boxes for a moment, it's time to share another kind of monthly subscription service that I'm smitten with. For new readers, The Vegan Kind is a monthly subscription service (the first monthly lifestyle subscription service, in fact) for vegans. That means that every single product, whether edible, drinkable, household essentials, everything is vegan friendly. Not only that but the box and packaging for each monthly The Vegan Kind is completely recyclable (as well as being made from 100% recycled materials), with a recipe card included in every box (this month it's a yummy raspberry sorbet!), as well as a charity feature each month. The charity feature is something I really love about The Vegan Kind, and as far as I am aware, no other monthly subscription services give monthly donations (correct me if I'm wrong!) For July, the charity which The Vegan Kind Facebook Fans selected as the charity to receive a 10p donation from each box sold, is Blind Dog Rescue UK. Now, onto the contents!

I received the 'Whole Hazelnut Chocolate Bar' and gosh, it is huge! A super-sized chocolate bar, using the finest Italian chocolate with a hazelnut paste, this rather inviting chocolate bar has been jam-packed with whole hazelnuts - which is lucky for me as hazelnut chocolate is my favourite! From one of the biggest (and legendary, The Vegan Kind say) vegan confectionary brands around, and was absolutely delicious - like Fererro Rocher in a bar!

At first, this product left me a little confused. Holding it upside down didn't help, but once I flipped it round, it all made sense! There's a lot of beauty products available in this format; where you have to add one or two ingredients of your own to a ready to use mix, to use the product. I've always been intrigued, but never tried something myself so I'm really excited that this is the beauty product for July's box! Created by the founder of the #VeganHour hashtag over on Twitter (every Tuesday at 7pm!), this powder shampoo seems like it'll be super easy to use. It says just add a touch of water to a heaped teaspoon to create a paste, before massaging and rinsing like normal shampoo. Very excited to try this one!

Coconut water is everywhere right now, which is great as it's fantastic for our bodies inside and out, and from one of my favourite fruits, too! The Vita Coco Natural Coconut Water is all-natural, a perfectly refreshing and incredibly hydrating drink. Can't wait to pop this in the fridge for a hot day!

Can we just take a moment here? Every single TVK box brings delicious treats, and each month I hail each new delicious treat as the tastiest yet. But this? Oh gosh. I think I'm in foodie heaven! Delicious thin coconut slices, lighting toasted to have a salty, smoky and slightly sweet flavour akin to real bacon. Genuinely, if you could have seen my face when I first tried these! All organic ingredients, no artificial flavours or preservatives, and packed full of skin and body loving ingredients such as raw extra-virgin coconut oil, of course the coconut chips themselves, and high-mineral Celtic sea salt! Delish!

I love the modern, bold packaging for this brand. FRANK bars are gluten, nut and dairy free, a great source of protein (almost 4g protein per 35g bar!) and contains 'ENERGYSMART'. What's ENERGYSMART, you may ask? FRANK's very own patented, all-natural combination of carbohydrates from three select fruits; apple, pear and grapes, alongside specially developed natural dextrins from grain which promises to give you an extra energy boost, that's long-lasting too! Another yummy treat, this was really tasty - strawberry and chocolate, perfect!

A product I was really quite pleased to spot in the July box, as wheatgrass is something I always get added as an extra shot in juices. From the UK's only juice producer of Ready to Drink Wheatgrass shots, wheatgrass is a quick and healthy way to get an instant energy boost. Wheatgrass helps to oxygenate your blood, gives you a big vitamin boost and promotes enzyme activity (not to mention it contains over 90 minerals!) The sachet shot can be drank as is, or mixed with juice, which is how I plan to put this body-happy drink to use!

So what do you think? I think it's another great month for The Vegan Kind. A great variety of products and food to tuck in to, a few possible new addictions and some very healthy additions to keep my body feeling refreshed and happy inside and out!

The Vegan Kind is a monthly subscription service costing £10 per month plus p&p. You can find out more on The Vegan Kind website, The Vegan Kind Facebook page, The Vegan Kind Twitter as well as Instagram and YouTube channel

  1. I bought some of that coconut water the other day but I didn't like it :-( I pop some wheatgrass powder in my orange juice and my skin seems to be better for it xx

    1. Oh no! Such a shame you don't like it. I had half today and having the other half tomorrow - I personally love it BUT, I dislike when it's with other fruits. I tried the Coconut and Peach one and boy was I not a fan! I definitely need to add wheatgrass powder to my to-buy list! xo
