Birchbox June Review | Offer

A picture of the June World Cup themed Global Strikers Birchbox
When I opened up the June Birchbox*, I squealed in delight. No exaggeration - I was over the moon with a product I spotted within seconds, and I'm still all a flutter that it was featured in the box. This month the box is themed around Global Strikers, products from four different Countries taking part in the World Cup. There's five products altogether as well as a lifestyle extra. Sound good? Let's delve in...

The first thing I spotted was a Beautyblender and Blendercleanser Solid (£26) (can you see why I squealed now?!) and I was just over the moon! I've tried dozens of Beautyblender dupes before, but I've always wanted to try the original and see whether it really was 'the best of the best'. An egg-shaped sponge which promises to be the perfect tool for creating a flawless base, alongside the original Beautyblender Blendercleanser Solid, which is a solid soap to clean your Beautyblender with! Cannot wait to get using this, already the best of the June subscription boxes, just for this!

Next up, another product I've been really, really eager to try and a product many of my favourite bloggers rave about, especially in the warmer months. The Caudalie Divine Oil (from £18) is a beautifully fragranced dry oil which works to quickly sink into your skin, rehydrating and leaving a delicate silky sheen. It smells of pure luxury, and I hope it lives up to my expectations! I received a 15ml sample size worth £4.05.

A brand I've never heard of before was featured in the June box in the form of Silk + Honey Shea Butter Hair Mask (£55), which is actually quite the interesting product! To buy the product itself, you have to buy a kit. This kit has all the tools and ingredients to create your very own 200g Silk + Honey Shea Butter Hair Mask! That is pretty cool, right? There's also two other kits available from Silk + Honey; the Silk + Honey Natural Lip Gloss Kit (£35) and the Silk + Honey Shimmering Body Cream Kit (£55) Every kit sounds like so much fun! Birchbox have done all the hard work for us this month though, and I received a 50ml ready-made sample (worth £8.75) of the Shea Butter Hair Mask, which also comes with an expiration date! The scent is super subtle and I can't wait to try it, as Shea Butter is one of my favourite moisturising ingredients. Promising to deeply nourish, protect and soften hair as well as fortifying elasticity, it sounds perfect - I'll report back once I've tried it!

Another product I've been eager to try after rave reviews, is the Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre (from £12.99) A cult French moisturiser, Lait-Creme Concentre promises to soothe your skin with beautiful natural ingredients, and claims to be suitable for all skin types, too. You can use this as your standard moisturiser, or layered up and left on for a while as a hydrating mask (definitely going to try that overnight!) I received a perfect travel friendly 5ml sample (worth £1.34)

The final beauty product in this month's box is a mini O.P.I Brazil Collection Nail Lacquer (£11.95) in the shade You're So Flippy Floppy. I love O.P.I, definitely one of my favourite high-end nail lacquer brands, although I must admit there's no yellows hiding away in my stash. Perhaps this delightfully bright shade will make me a fan of yellow polishes! I received a 5ml mini size (worth £3.99)

The final feature in the June box is the lifestyle extra, a fun Brazil Inspired Keyring in the shape of a flip flop with the Birchbox logo!

Overall I am super chuffed with the June Birchbox. Birchbox costs £10 a month plus £2.95 post and packaging, yet the contents of the box I received is £44.13 - I think that's pretty darn good for a £10 box! I am so chuffed with all of the products, there's not one I won't use and I love that there's products I've been eager to try, as well as being introduced to fun and quirky brands like Silk + Honey!

If you'd like to try Birchbox for yourself (and yes, there's still time to sign up for the June box!) then you can grab your very first Birchbox for half price at just £5! 1. I really enjoyed this month birchbox, but had to email them about them always constantly missing something in my box.
The star for me though was definitely the beautyblender.

  3. That box looks fab though based on pics of other boxes I've seen I'm not sure how representative PR samples are of what most subscribers get.

    1. Hey Wonderlusting!

I don't feel as if I receive boxes anyone else wouldn't receive, I've seen lots of reviews and Instagram pictures/Twitter pictures of people's June boxes, as they seem to be going down really well. A lot of the boxes I've seen have had a similar mix of products to me, several have had the Beautyblender - and those who have, haven't been sent their boxes as a PR sample but have paid for them as subscribers. I understand some people can get disappointed with the contents of their boxes (and I'm talking about all subscription boxes here), but that's something you have to expect. There are great alternatives for people who prefer to know what they will be receiving each month, such as Love Me Beauty which is a regular feature here on the blog!

Thank you for your comment xo
