The May The Vegan Kind box (TheVeganKind*, £10 + p&p) came in perfect timing; we had just eaten ourselves out of 'treats' and I was about to place a very naughty online food shop, that was mostly packed with chocolate, sweets and unnecessary snacks. As soon as my May box popped through the door, I knew we wouldn't need those naughty treats, because The Vegan Kind boxes are always filled with tasty treats for us to dig in to! I'm really impressed with the selection of products in the May box, so let's delve in!
The first thing I spotted, because it was the biggest thing in the box, was a bag of Hectares Piri Piri Sweet Potato Crisps (Hectares, £1) which I devoured pretty quickly! I am a huge piri piri fan and I also prefer sweet potato or vegetable crisps, to traditional spud crisps. Hectare's sweet potato crisps are packed full of anti-oxidants, are high in dietary fibre and contain Vitamin A and C as well as beta-carotene. They tasted incredible; the sweetness of sweet potato, with a subtle hint of piri piri for a splash of flavour. Definitely need to pick up some more of these!
Next up, probably my favourite thing in this month's box, a bag of Scoff's Handmade Chocolate Fudge (Scoff, £3.50) which just tasted so heavenly; even my partner was converted! I'm not usually a chocolate fudge person, but this was so much nicer than other chocolate fudge I've tried. It wasn't sickly. It was moorish and perfect with a cup of tea, or just a cheeky chunk whilst working.
I was really excited by a box of Organic Raw Crackers (GoldenApple, £3.95), because let's be honest - I love biscuits! Perfect with a cup of tea. Golden Apple produce organic, raw crackers and biscuits made from selected seeds and spices. I received the hazelnuts and peppermint flavour, which are nice, but the peppermint is just a touch too strong for me.
Some more food goodies in the box included a sachet of HOT-POTS (WholePlus, £1.80) which I haven't tried yet - but I am sure I will love. Described as a powerful infusion of whole oats blended with a generous helping of TOPPERS and coconut milk powder.
What better to find in this month's box, the last foody related product, Dormouse Tea Company Loose Leaf Jasmine Tea with Teabags (DormouseTeaCompany, £3.60) I love loose tea, and even more so when it comes with DIY teabags. Can't wait to see how this gorgeously scented Jasmine Tea tastes!
Last but not least the final product in the May The Vegan Kind box is the only home and lifestyle product; a sachet of Bio D Laundry Liquid (BioDegradable, £4.45), which I am looking forward to putting to the test. Described as a versatile, non-biological concentrated laundry liquid which can be used in automatic washing machines, twin-tubs and even washing by hand.
So what do you think to this month's box? I always look forward to The Vegan Kind boxes and yet again, I'm really happy. The biscuits may not have been to my taste, but everything else I have already tried has been delicious, and how could I not be happy with tea?! I can't wait to see what the June box holds!
