There is only so long I can have a product in my possession, and not use it. Whenever I buy something new I always try and wait before using the products, until I've photographed them ready for posts here on the blog. But this year has been so hectic, that my Sephora order arrived a whole month ago, and I've only just got around to taking photos today. Because it's been so long since my order arrived, and even longer since I ordered, rummaging through my Sephora box was like going shopping all over again. The order I spent weeks deliberating over, the order I am besotted with. I have been waiting for Sephora to ship to the UK for absolutely ages, and I'm so glad we can finally get our hands on some American brands.
As soon as I decided to take the plunge and make a Sephora order, I knew there would be one brand that ended up in my basket; Tarte. I first tried Tarte just over a year ago, and since then I've built a humble collection of three Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushes (Sephora, £16.41/$26) Being a big fan of the formula, colour pay off and longevity of Tarte blushes, I let myself pick another two shades to add to my collection (and yes, it was hard holding off at just two!) In the end I picked Fearless and Captivating. Fearless is described as a coral pink, a touch more muted than Tipsy, another coral Tarte blush I have. Captivating is a new shade to join the range, and is a lovely warm peach, I absolutely can't wait to try this! Another Tarte product which made it's way to into my basket is the beautifully packaged Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick (Sephora, £10.10/$16) which is currently on sale - I paid £16.48. I picked up Enlightened, a gorgeous burnt peach. Although the packaging is beautiful, I was pretty disappointed with how little product there is once you fully twist the lipstick up, and I'm not sure I'd buy another at full price.
Although Too Faced is a brand available in the UK, there's a few products available in the US that we can't get over here. I couldn't resist the Beauty Blogger Darlings (Sephora, £12.62/$20)
which is a set of products worth £24.97/$42. The set includes four products selected by bloggers as favourites from the brand, including a Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, Primed & Poreless Face Primer, Better Than Sex Mascara and Shadow Insurance Eye Shadow Primer. I can't get over how good value for money this set is, I wish UK stores did affordable sets like this! All the products are travel sized versions, but will easily last quite a while, the bronzer itself looks almost full size.
I've been wanting to try Kat Von D products ever since she released the line, and I really wish it was a range available in the UK! There's a few products I've love to try, and I decided the easiest way to test the quality of products would be to see how the famous Tattoo Liner (Sephora, £11.36/$18) in Trooper, which is described as an ink black. I've only swatched this so far, and I'm not wowed on first impressions, but I'm looking forward to giving it a thorough testing, to see if it's really as good as everyone says.
Of course I couldn't order from Sephora without trying a few products from the Sephora Collection. I picked up three Sephora Collection lip products - one I actually forgot to include in the photos, so we'll start with that one first. There's a whole host of gorgeous shades in the Rouge Cream Lipstick (Sephora, £7.89/$12.50) range, and I went for 07 Jealous, a lovely peachy pink. I can't wait to try this, and I think the price is really, really reasonable! Going from an everyday wearable shade to something more vibrant, I was really intrigued by the Cream Lip Stain (Sephora, £8.20/$13) range, wanting to see how they faired to the current UK offerings of lip lacquers. I was instantly drawn to 03 Strawberry Kissed, a matte bright pinky red, and 06 Forever Fuschia, a gorgeous satin electric fuchsia, with an almost metallic finish.
I'm really happy with everything that I ordered, there's nothing I'm not excited to try and a whole host of products I've had on my wishlist for far too long! For those of you curious about ordering from Sephora, you can find full shipping information here. Postage, including any expected fees, is just £10 with orders over the value of £75/$126.15, and then on top of that you have VAT and tax added at checkout. Once ordered it only took around 10 days to get to me, and everything was intact! I've also signed up for the Sephora Beauty Insider, which is a rewards system similar to looks of big stores. I'll definitely be ordering from Sephora again, there's so many more gorgeous American products I want to get my hands on. Let me know what you think to my order, and if you've ordered from Sephora as well, I'd love to hear what you decided to add to your basket too!
