The Sunday post # 12

The Sunday post # 12
Another week is over, and what a busy week it has been! A lot has been going down in Tattooed Tealady land, and it's been a week full of work, work and more work. There's only a few months left of my degree and my dissertation deadline is looming like a big black cloud. I've lost my motivation for Uni work recently and I'm having to really push myself to get my head down and do some work. I've been studying my degree for four years now, it's a long time and I think I'm finally ready to finish. I have loved studying Psychology for my degree and it has had such a massive and positive effect on my life. But sometimes, you just get sick of reading journals and writing drafts, going over data and trying to perfect your own ideas. Does anyone else lose motivation with their studies?

There have been a whole ton of new posts up on the blog this week, with lots of beauty reviews with a couple of lifestyle posts thrown in the mix. On Monday I shared the stunning Spring Ready: Bobbi Brown Nectar & Nude collection, which has some beautiful shades of pink and coral, a gorgeous palette and two new favourite polishes. The price-point for the collection is pretty purse-friendly, too, so it's definitely worth checking these limited edition beauties out! I also shared my love for the March TheVeganKind box, with another delicious contents plus a household essential. This is one subscription box I can't stop talking about, mentioning it to everyone I meet! I don't share budget-friendly makeup half as much as I'd like here on the blog, but I've finally found a palette worth shouting about, NYX Wicked Dreams. With 24 shades, it's a complete bargain palette and I am smitten with the formula and colour selection. On Tuesday I had the pleasure of joining the Tesco Healthy Living range team for lunch, to learn all about the new and improved range with new recipes, new packaging and all at very purse-friendly prices. The fantastic thing for me about the new range, is that the Weight Watchers ProPoints values are included on the packaging! I shared a couple of beauty box offers this week, with a chance to grab 10% off of any LoveMeBeauty subscription and the chance to grab your very first Birchbox for just £5! Both boxes were really fab this month, but the packaging for Birchbox has stolen my heart! For my mid-week pamper I shared a duo that I snapped up in the sales and then completely forgot about, as well as a post all about an exciting new release, the NARS Contour Blush collection which is now available to buy! A permanent addition to the range, I'll be snapping Paloma up! I shared my Spring Ready Lips, covering both high-street and high-end lip products, and a review of one of my favourite scent ranges from NEOM, Complete Bliss. If you're looking for some new blogs to follow, I shared 6 lovely blogs I adore reading, including beauty and lifestyle. I also asked for your help in deciding whether to place a Sephora order. Quite the busy week on the blog!

The rest of today is going to be spent burying my head in my dissertation, lots of procrastination and obsessively watching American Horror Story, which I started watching on Netflix last night. I'm already addicted! I just hope season 2 lives up to season 1, and that Netflix add the remaining seasons soon! Later today you can read all about my morning skincare routine (get a cuppa ready, as it's one hell of a long post!) and next week is set to be full of new beauty launches, favourite products and a possible outfit post.

How was your week?

  2. Ah, losing motivation in studies, I know that monster well. I actually come from a place where I didn't love my degree straight out and still have days when I struggle so, SO much with it. It's devastating, really, because I only discovered subjects I love now, and I'm graduating in July! (Finger crossed.)

The one good thing has been that I figured out what I wanted to do for my Masters. There is nothing worse than doing a degree for the sake of it. (Okay, no, that's not true. There's thousands of things that are worse, but regretting the time you spent studying is pretty high on the list.)

Incidentally, Scarphelia has a very interesting post on how Intelligence is more than a number, http://www.scarphelia.com/2014/02/intelligence-is-not-just-number.html I think you'll like it.

  3. Yes I am frequently losing motivation with my studies. I am also in my final year with d-day rapidly approaching, and it's becoming a far too regular scene of me sitting down to do work and find myself at a brick wall! Procrastination, on the other hand, is becoming far too easy... Glad I'm not the only one! I've no idea how you manage to keep so up to date with your blogging, I have great admiration!

  4. Love the look of those Bobbi Brown nail polishes, I've never tried their nail polishes but those shades are beautiful.

  5. I have heard such great things about American Horror Story - I think I need to jump on the bandwagon and give it a go!
I'm really enjoying your Sunday catch-up posts, and particularly your home posts. I'm currently house-hunting and although I've not found somewhere yet, all I want to do is buy lovely homeware pieces! x
