Two years ago and OCC, or formally known as Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, were a brand I had no idea about a brand I had only heard rumours about - all rave reviews, might I add. After receiving my very first OCC Lip Tar, OCC's most coveted range, in my Selfridge's Beauty Box, I was instantly smitten. I have been a fan of OCC ever since and in particular, their lip products. The OCC Lip Tars are like no other product I have come across, presented in adorably cute little tubes which come with their very own mini lip brush for making application easy. A liquid product, two tiny drops is the most you'd need for an even, pigmented application that has lasting power like no other. Last Summer OCC released a Lip Tar Stained Gloss range to join their original Lip Tar range, and this Spring there's another new offering from OCC to leave any lip product fan besotted.
A good lip pencil can be hard to find. You need one that's firm but soft enough to apply without tugging, with great colour pay off and a formula that's easy to blend but doesn't bleed. The new Cosmetic Colour Pencil range has 12 stunning colours covering everything from neutral and natural, to bold and daring. I've been lucky enough to try three shades from the new range out, and I have to admit, I'm impressed! Up until now I've found MAC lip pencils to be the best with very few brands even coming close to being competition. The OCC Cosmetic Colour Pencils are unbelievable, and might even be good enough to push MAC from the top spot. Sleek and simple in design, massive colour pay off, easy to apply and blend onto the lip and longevity that puts high-end brands to shame. Grandma* is a soft orange with peach undertones that will get more use in the Summer months, and I've already thoroughly enjoyed teaming with my coral based lipsticks. Black Dhalia* is a deep, dark red that's less harsh on the lips than it looks, but is best teamed with deep, warm lipsticks. The final shade I've been giving ago is NSFW*, a true red.
If you've been looking to add some lip pencils to your collection, I cannot recommend the OCC Cosmetic Colour Pencil line enough. So impressed with the shades I have tried, I will definitely be looking to add a few more to my collection and particularly have my eye on Hoochie and Trick. OCC Cosmetic Colour Pencils are available in 12 shades at £11 each, over on the Cocktail Cosmetics website.
