The Sunday post # 3

For the first time in ages, I've been able to do what I want with my weekend. I haven't had deadlines to meet, I haven't been behind on work. Everything is as it should be, and I get to relax and enjoy myself. With a busy week ahead, a quiet weekend is exactly what I need. I know being an adult comes with responsibilities, but sometimes it's nice to feel like you don't have any, I'm not the only one, right? It's nice to wind down, relax, spent time with those you care about. Instead of running around like a headless chicken all the time (I'm sure that feeling was meant to go after Christmas?!) Today is date night. My partner and I never have a set 'date night' and we don't bother to do it every week or every month. But whenever we feel like it, we'll randomly plan something and today we're off to a restaurant for dinner, followed by Anchorman 2 at the cinema. I'm pretty excited as I love Anchorman, and I've been wanting to see Anchorman 2 since it's release! With dinner beforehand I'm going to be avoiding the popcorn and slush puppies (although how likely it is I won't buy both, is another question entirely)

Most of my weekend so far has been house hunting. We've found the most perfect Countryside cottage that is exactly what I want, inside an out; a beautiful Countryside setting, a gorgeous white cottage, traditional features. We're hoping to get a viewing in over the next week and if it's right for us, I'll be so happy! I have a few posts coming up on moving, little bits and bobs I've found helpful, how we've saved up... the important and not so important stuff that is essential for moving home. Half of me wishes we were in a new home already, because I'm in 'cosy mode' where I keep buying things for the new house, that we don't actually have yet. But when we do - I can't wait to decorate it so that it's a perfect representation of my partner and I, with Country style and shabby chic through in.

I'm pretty excited for the week ahead. On the blog you can expect a review of a facial which left my skin incredibly happy, a couple of fantastic monthly subscription offers plus a giveaway and lots of beauty reviews! I'm also popping to London this week, which for me always feels incredibly weird after a long time of not going. Through the Christmas break and festivities, I've not been to Uni since the beginning of December and my actual taught lectures and labs have all finished now, leaving me, my pile of un-loved journal articles and a box of tissues for the tears at the ready to tackle my dissertation. I always love going to London and since moving back to Nottingham from London, I feel I appreciate London more on the days where I go down, shop, go to Uni, have meetings, do touristy things.... then come home to my own bed! It'll be lovely to see some of my favourite people, though.

Whatever you do with your day, I hope it's lovely, with a great week ahead! Have any exciting news? Share it with me! I'd love to know how all of you are getting along, how is 2014 treating you? What are your plans for the week ahead?
