Have you ever seen something so beautiful? Just look at the detail which has gone into the embossing on this product. Absolutely stunning. Guerlain is a brand I have never really dabbled in before, but their products always look incredible, with both permanent products and limited edition products that draw me in every time I'm near a counter. Sometimes it can be a bit daunting with brands you have little to no experience with, not knowing which products to try, but after trying this beauty I will definitely be dabbling more in Guerlain as a brand overall. So what is this work of art that has given me the Guerlain bug?
Guerlain Terra Ora Sculpting Powder* (Escentual*, £36): A little deceiving at first the fine shimmer and gold and bronze tones make it almost look like a bronzer, but this is most definitely not a bronzer. Described by Guerlain as providing a sun kissed glow, creating a pearly veil on the skin, this is an incredibly beautiful highlighting powder which is so beautifully subtle yet impacting at the same time, that it can be used for anything from highlighting your cheek bones and brow bone, to a light swish of product down the bridge of your nose, cupids bow, even the decolletage. Terra Ora is one of those products that's special, the product itself is gorgeously pigmented, just enough to leave a stunning highlight and sun kissed glow, without being over powering or disappointing. The formula is of exceptional quality, easily one of the loveliest formulas I've had the pleasure of using for powder highlights and the longevity is also fantastic - very rarely do I need to touch up. Housed within a wooden, mirrored case with a lid that completely comes away, and a magnetic close to keep it in place; it's unusual, and designed like no other product I own in that sense. You get a lot of product, too; the wooden case is pretty big, easily filling my hands and carries 16g of product. A real treat, this is reserved for the most special of occasions (and saw a lot of use over the festive Christmas period!), one of those 'special' pieces in a makeup collection. Suggested as suitable for all skin tones, I'd agree - the formula and pigmentation is spot on, and would easily be usable on a variety of skin tones whilst never appearing too subtle or too harsh. It's just, well, I think magical is a good word to describe this one.
If you were looking for a splurge buy, or maybe something to treat yourself to with Christmas money, this is the one girls. The perfect highlighting powder with a warmer twist, I'm smitten.
