A bit of Wishful Thinking...

If you're on the hunt for a shade that stands out from your usual neutral culprits whilst still being super wearable, I have just the one. The Guy Bourdin collections with NARS have all been absolutely stunning and the sets in particular have caught my eye and had me lusting, indulging in the Promiscuous Lip Coffret which includes a makeup pouch and five glorious lip pencils. The Guy Bourdin collaboration has included some really incredible colours and some of the colours are certainly not for the weak hearted. But if you like using bold, bright colours with impact, then Wishful Thinking* (HQHair*, £18) it's going to be a real peeper pleaser!

I've raved before about the formula, colour pay off and longevity of NARS eyeshadows when I shared some of my favourite palettes. NARS really do have a fantastically vast range of incredible makeup, which is worthy of the price tag. That said, I find NARS to be quite reasonably priced for a high-end brands with lots of products under £20. My favourite products from NARS are the shadows, with the lip pencils making a sneaky 2nd place. They're just so dreamy! Towards the end of 2013 I was really gravitating towards blues and greens. I don't know what it is, I've never been drawn to shades like this before; I spent a good portion of the year looking for those 'perfect' blues and greens. I've found a few greens that are pretty spot on, such as MAC Humid, but I've still been trying to find a blue that is the right side of cool to pull off in the winter without looking too drastic. Wishful Thinking is the perfect touch of vivid, electric blue with soft, paler blue undertones which make the shade much more wearable than you'd think. The colour pay off is intense and a little is all you need; I love using it best for a pop of colour in the center of my lids, it really changes a look completely and works amazingly well with my brown eyes. This bright and cheerful peeper pleaser is a joy to use and experiment with; if you needed a little push to experiment more with your shadows, this is it.

  1. That is some intense cobolt blue, I definitely wouldn't be brave enough to try something like that but after reading that its really wearable has made me think I shouldn't steer away from bold colours! Will have to give it a try,
