When autumn comes around, the darker, bolder lip colours always come out to play. I will be sharing my favourite lip products from both high street and high end brands, and today I am sharing my top favourite lip products for the cold autumnal months ahead.
Bobbi Brown Lip Colour Old Hollywood (Bobbi Brown, Limited Edition, £22) - Old Hollywood is a recent addition to my lipstick collection and it's been a favourite for a perfect flash of bright red colour on cold, grey days. I think a bright lipstick can really brighten up a dull day and this red has a gorgeous orange undertone with a great colour payoff and a gorgeous shine to the finish. I'm no stranger to doing my makeup how I feel confident and I am often known to wear a bold eye with a bold lip - the beauty cardinal sin! But for me, on those days where I want a warm, smoky eye, this is the perfect red to team with my finished look. And gold casing?! Come on, this is like a lipstick lover's dream!
Bobbi Brown Lip Colour Berry (Bobbi Brown, £19) - Another Bobbi Brown lipstick, Berry is a new-ish shade to join the Lip Colour ranks at Bobbi Brown and it debuted with the recent Rich Chocolate Collection. Berry is perfect for those of you who want to experiment with more autumunal shades, but aren't quite ready for a full on pop of colour or deep, vampy look. Berry is the perfect go between and it's rich, creamy formula means a single application leaves a beautiful, subtle berry wash of colour over your lips that's incredibly long-lasting. Berry is one of my most used shades at the moment, it's just stunning.
Burberry Lip Cover Hibiscus (Burberry, £22.50) - Burberry Hibiscus has stolen my heart, there's just no two ways about it. My first Burberry lipstick purchase, I am besotted with the gorgeous berry shade. It glides on effortlessly, the colour is stunning and there's masses of colour pay off. Super long lasting and never a worry over the colour bleeding or smudging, Burberry lipsticks are dreamy in every way.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Amore* & Aria* (Cult Beauty*, £15) - These beautiful liquid lacquers are new to my collection, but boy are they getting some love! I really wanted to love the Hourglass Opaque Rouge but it just wasn't meant to be. I adore the Rimmel Apocalips, which are a great high street dupe, but I wanted something with a thicker formula. The Stila All Day Liquid Lipsticks are the perfect in between with a creamy, thick yet easily to wear formula, these are packed full of amazing pigmentation that needs just one layer for a brilliant, opaque finish. With a semi-matte finish, these liquid lipsticks have vitamin E and avocado oils to keep your lips conditioned and hydrated, the formula itself is very weightless when on the lips and it's quick to set. I love using the doe-foot applicator, but if you're a little messy at first a quick wipe with a cotton bud and some bi-phase makeup remover gets rid of any mistakes in seconds! Amore is a deep raisin shade and Aria is a pinky-plum that's just that touch brighter and has more of a colour pop!
MAC Rebel (MAC, £15) - MAC Rebel is one of those shades that is always talked about in the blogging world. Before I took the plunge and decided to pick this vampy shade up, I will admit I was pretty intimidated by it. I wanted MAC Rebel probably longer than I've ever lusted for a MAC product and it took a lot of reviews, a lot of looking at swatches and swatching it every chance I could, before I had the guts to pick it up. Although having the look of a dark, sultry purple, the shade when applied is much, much softer. The shade is a deep yet bright berry shade, almost like the stain of berries. It's a shade I love any time of year, but even more so in A/W. With a satin finish, Rebel glides onto the lips perfectly with great colour payoff. For the best longevity, I like to team this with either Nightmoth or Magenta Lip Pencil.
I'd love to know what your high-end lip product picks are this season?
