Last Thursday I was kindly invited along to visit the new Urban Outfitters store which has opened at the Victoria Shopping Center, Nottingham. There has been a huge buzz around the store opening and it's been quite the talk of the town (or city in this case!) with everyone excited to finally have an Urban Outfitters. I popped along with Tori (Tori's Tales), Megan (Seek My Scribbles) and Ellie (Ellie's Favourite Things) to see this brand new store before the big public opening which was Friday November 15th!
The first thing that grabbed my attention when we walked into the colourful new store was the sheer size of the place. For those of you from Nottingham, you will know that Urban Outfitters is now where the old Curry's store was - except in comparison, it's huge! The whole store has been opened up from what was a small, one floor store to a giant, two floor maze of clothes, gifts and accessories. It's pretty impressive! Walking around the store was so much fun, with displays set up to feature gifts, both Urban Outfitters own brands as well as designer brands such as Stussy and Obey, and some pretty cool features dotted around the store such as Sega Megadrive games consoles downstairs in the men's section where you can play some classic Sonic the Hedgehog and a photo booth to take some fun and funky snaps whilst you shop. There's also some incredibly fun, quirky and unique art adorning all of the walls of the store, all designed by a local artist which was lovely to see as the store is supporting local talent!
The store itself was actually so much fun to browse and walk around. The variety in labels and trends available is incredibly vast and I found myself returning to sections over and over again, having missed something the time before. The gift sections are laid out on displays throughout the store as well as a whole section of wall dedicated to the huge array of gifts available at Urban Outfitters. There's a whole host of gifts I saw which would make perfect Christmas presents as well as a few things I wouldn't mind adding to our home!
Urban Outfitters definitely takes the dull and stress out of shopping in a city center and adds a new, fresh and fun approach to updating your wardrobe. With a DJ booth, big-name brands, amazing artwork and even places to stop for a break and have some fun, Urban Outfitters is going to be a regular on my shopping list from now on. If you're in Nottingham, be sure to check it out - I guarantee you'll leave with a smile on your face and bags full of amazing buys! And even better? They do 10% student discount!
Welcome to Nottingham, Urban Outfitters.
