Top 3 Products for Combination Skin

"It takes a great deal of trial and error to find those holy grail products, the ones you nor your skin could live without. These are little gems that are never out of my routine and have never let me down.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (Liz Earle, 100ml, £14.75) - I mentioned before that my skincare routine is heavily Liz Earle based, but it wouldn't be so if I hadn't discovered Cleanse & Polish. I tried a sample of Cleanse & Polish during a particularly spotting time and within a few days I noticed my skin looking brighter and healthier. Few more days after that I noticed the spots clearing up in places and surprisingly, no new ones made an appearance! Since then I've been hooked and my skin is thankful, I never go to bed without using the Hot Cloth Cleanser, it's the foundation to my whole routine. I wouldn't be the Liz Earle skincare fantastic I am now, without it.

Bioderma Sensibo H20 (Escentual, 100ml, £4.50, 250ml, £9.99) - I love Bioderma because it works really well, but at the same time it's gentle and has never upset the balance in my skin. Micellar waters have become incredibly popular, but Bioderma is always my go-to out of the bunch, because of how effect it is. I mostly use it in the mornings to take off any stubborn mascara that didn't come off the night before. It's perfect for freshening up your skin and creating a clean base for your makeup, and it's great in the evening for removing the majority of your makeup so your cleanser doesn't have to do as much work! One

Origins Drink Up 10 minute mask (Origins, 100ml, £22) - Hands down this is my favourite face mask ever because it's an absolute dream for combination skin. You apply a thick layer of this amazing peach smelling cream mask all over your face and let it work it's magic. Ten minutes later you will notice that some parts of your skin still have a visible layer of the mask on while others have completely absorbed it and this is why it's so good.  It gives each part of your fussy skin exactly what it needs, it doesn't over hydrate the normal bits while any dry patches drink it up, it's wonderful. I use this once or twice a week and afterwards my skin smells incredible and looks healthier and I also find that my make-up application is more even when my skin is completely happy.”

Top 3 Products for Combination Skin

"Hey  Lovelies, here are my top 3 product recommendations for combination skin!

Clarins Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction Cream (Clarins, 100ml, £40) - The first product I am going to be talking about is a moisturiser I have been using regularly since my mid 20s. No matter how many other moisturisers I try, I always end up going back to my trusted Clarins Multi Active Day Cream. It’s suitable for all skin types and helps to prevent the first signs of ageing.  I love this cream because it keeps my skin moisturized all day long. As it’s not greasy, it absorbs really well into my skin but doesn't leave me with an oily T-Zone. Some moisturizers I have tried that are suitable for combination skin are really good at controlling my oily T-Zone, but are not hydrating enough for the dry patches on my face. With my Clarins Multi Active Day Cream, my skin gets the hydration it needs, and my oily T-Zone is controlled at the same time. Another reason why I love this cream so much that has an anti-aging formula that really works. Judging by my lifestyle choices throughout my 20s (smoking, sun beds, binge drinking) I should probably look like I’m in my 40s by now. I believe it’s the anti aging formula in the Clarins Multi Active Day Cream that’s kept the wrinkles at bay, and I really cannot recommend this product enough!

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask (Origins, 50ml, £11, 100ml, £22) - The next product I am going to be talking about is the Origins Drink Up Intensive. This is a blogger favourite and I bought it after reading many rave reviews about it. This face mask well and truly lives up to the hype. Not only does it have a lovely peach scent that you cannot help but fall in love with, it also boasts natural ingredients including avocado oil, mango butter and Japanese seaweed to keep your skin hydrated and prevent future moisture loss. I use Drink Up Intensive once a week and it’s really made a difference to the dry areas on my skin. My skin always looks plumper and feels smoother the day after I've applied this face mask.  I actually wish I had dry skin so I could use this product more often!

Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser (Superdrug, 150ml, £5.99) - My final product recommendation is the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser which I have raved about many times over on my blog. Usually I tend to prefer high end skin care, but the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser has really surprised me. I use this product as part of the cleansing step in my skincare routine. Being a drug store product makes it completely affordable and it even comes with a free muslin cloth. This cleanser is thick and creamy and does an amazing job at gently removing your make up, oils and other impurities whilst still being really gentle on your skin. You can even apply this product to your delicate eye area and it won't sting or irritate your eyes in any way! The Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser is perfect for my combination skin because the muslin cloth gently exfoliates my skin, getting rid of any dead skin cells as well as excess oils. The thick and creamy formula of the cleanser doesn't dry my skin out or make it greasy, so it should come as no surprise that this is my all time favourite drugstore product of all time!"

Angelica has normal skin - Here are her top 3 product recommendations!

"I've been on the look out for products that will help me manage my combination skin for the last few years and I've come across a few trusty staples that really don’t ever let me down. These products help even out my skin and improve its appearance, whether that’s under make-up or when I’m bare faced.

The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Moisture Lotion SPF15 (The Body Shop, 50ml, £11) - I’m a long-standing fan of the Body Shops Seaweed range as I find it all to be generally very helpful with managing my combination skin. In particular, the Mattifying Moisture Lotion is excellent. Although it has mattifying properties it is actually very good at balancing combination skin as the lotion is quite thick and hydrating but absorbs quickly and leaves behind smooth, matte skin. It is also a great way to incorporate sun protection into your everyday routine, especially for those who really struggle with oily skin (as I do) because affordable SPF often does not help mattify the skin. All together, it is a highly commendable product and is definitely worth a try if you’re looking for something hydrating, but not greasy, which will help even out your skin concerns.

Origins Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask (Origins, 50ml, £10, 100ml, £22) - A big part of my skincare routine is additional “treatments” and Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask is an excellent investment purchase. I use this just on the oily parts of my skin (my t-zone) and I find that it does help control my oiliness the day(s) after I use it as well as decongesting my pores. This is an expensive addition but I use this face mask weekly and it has lasted me months with plenty of product still left. For me, clay masks applied topically are an essential part of my routine and I’d highly recommend this one.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser (The Body Shop, 30ml, £7.50) - The Body Shops Tea Tree range is another great range of products, although it isn't suitable for those with very sensitive skin. The Tea Tree Pore Minimiser is my holy grail primer and depending on my skin’s sensitivity I either apply this just on my t-zone or across my entire face. When I apply make-up over it I find that my make-up lasts longer and my face gets less shiny throughout the day. I also like using in when I’m not wearing make-up (especially in hot weather) as it keeps my skin matte and, to a small extent, does blur the appearance of my pores making my skin look smoother and clearer. Of the three products I've mentioned, the Tea Tree Pore Minimiser is my oldest favourite and I've already repurchased it a number of times."

Thank you Hayley, Nuala and Angelica for sharing your favourite products with us! The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser has gone right to the top of my wish list!

Next week we'll be talking normal skin, and my normal skin bloggers Rosie, Vanessa and Sarah will be recommending their favourite products. Be sure to let us know what your favourite skincare products are too, and whether any of these are have ended up on your wishlist too!
