Seven steps to perfect summer legs.

This summer I have had my legs out more than any other summer I can remember. All down to a weekly routine and some fabulous products, I've finally mastered my perfect summer legs. Skirts, dresses, my legs are out instead of hidden away in leggings and tights. It's great! It's like I've found renewed body confidence; I never used to go out bare legged! Today's post is a step-by-step guide to my weekly leg-pampering routine, so you can get perfect summer legs too!

Step 1
Essentially Smooth Hair Removal Cream for Sensitive Skin
Having smooth skin is the perfect starting point for summer ready legs and I have been trying the Essentially Smooth Hair Removal Cream for Sensitive Skin* (Boots*, £3.99) I've never had the best luck with hair removal creams but after finding out that the Essentially Smooth cream contains moisturising aloe vera and vitamin E, I thought why not give it a go! I've been pleasantly surprised to find this easily rids me of any unwanted hair, without the dreaded itching and rash I experience with other brands. It doesn't have much of a scent, but I prefer that with hair removal creams as some can smell pretty nasty. I put this on both legs using the handy spatula it comes with and leave on for five or so minutes before rinsing off. You can use this on any hair on the body, although avoid the face and any areas which are irritated, scarred or any broken skin. It lasts me a good week or so before I need to re-do it, which is definitely time saving! For such a bargain price, I will definitely be repurchasing. Available in sensitive and normal.

Step 2
REN Moroccan Rose Otto Body Wash
Rose is one of my favourite scents, but the REN Moroccan Rose Otto Body Wash* (REN*, £17.99) completely captivates my senses more than any other rose otto product I have tried. I follow my Essentially Smooth cream with the REN Moroccan Body Wash and instantly the scent makes me feel as if I am stood in the middle of a beautiful rose garden in Morocco. Talk about holiday lusting! Infused with Moroccan Rose Otto Oil, which is one of the world's most expensive and revered essential oils, this body wash is definitely a bit more special than my usual choices. It's softening, it leaves my skin cleansed and clear, the scent lingers and is instantly soothing. You need just one or two pumps of this beautiful body wash, less is more; it lathers beautifully and is generally a body wash that makes me feel content. Pretty good for a body wash, right?

Step 3
& Other Stories Fig Fiction Body Scrub
Heaven in a pot. I am completely besotted with the & Other Stories Fig Fiction range and the Fig Fiction Body Scrub (& Other Stories, £7) is without a doubt, my favourite body scrub. It's over taken the likes of NEOM, Organic Surge and Soap & Glory and completely wowed me. Every time I use this scrub I am left with insanely smooth skin that feels soft and supple to the touch. It has a true scent of fresh figs and is such a close scent dupe for the Diptyque Philosykos perfume, which is my absolute favourite scent. It's a very thick scrub and a little goes a long way. I use about a 50 pence piece size for each limb, a bit more for my tum, and it really goes far. What I love most about this scrub is as you massage it into your skin, buffing your skin to ultra-smooth perfection, it begins to lather up; which is why a little goes such a long way. I cannot recommend this body scrub enough, just heavenly.

Step 4
NEOM Real Luxury Organic Body Oil
Body oils are an important step in my body care routine because I find they can really go a long way in keeping my skin softer and smoother for longer, as well as hydrated. The NEOM Real Luxury Organic Body Oil* (NEOM*, £30) contains 97% certified organic ingredients and 3% natural ingredients, and has been specially formulated to give a boost of nourishing re-hydration. With organic safflower and jojoba, both rich in vitamin A and E, the Real Luxury Organic Body Oil works to soften, hydrate and smooth the skin. It has a beautiful scent which is classic of NEOM; sensuous, soothing, calming, not too over-powering and the scent lingers beautifully on your skin. Real Luxury is one of my favourite NEOM scents and I think it's a scent which would suit most people. I apply this all over before my body moisturiser.

Step 5
KIKO Firming Iridescent Cream
I always follow a body oil with a body cream and one I have been using lately is from KIKO, a relatively new brand to me. The KIKO Firming Iridescent Cream* (KIKO*, £12.90) blew me away from first use with it's lucuiously thick formula, sweet and fruity scent. This stuff is a beauty! It makes my skin feel as if I have a layer of new, smoother, firmer skin. It has a firming and toning formula, which although I haven't noticed long-term firming and toning, when used my skin does feel firmer, more toned and supple. A quick fix that is hydrating on even my driest areas, such as my knees and elbows.

 Step 6
Bioderma Photoderm Autobronzant Moistrusing Tanning Spray
I love having beautifully tanned skin, but I'm not always so eager to go sit in the blazing heat - I'm definitely more of a cool, shade kind of girl. The Bioderma Photoderm Autobronzant Moisturising Tanning Spray* (Escentual*, £15) is my quick-fix, self tanning solution to getting bronzed summer legs. With a super easy to use spray applicator, I spritz this over both legs, massaging in with a tanning mitt as I go along. I've not noticed the usual self-tanning scent which this, which is lovely, and the product itself is really long-lasting due to the spray applicator. Giving me a gorgeous, golden look which fools others into thinking I've spent hours sunbathing. I am a big fan. The colour is natural, with no orange tinge in site, and is also easily buildable.

Step 7
KIKO Light Legs Crackling Mousse
Another wonderful product from KIKO, this is one I keep in my handbag for on the go. The KIKO Light Legs Crackling Mousse* (KIKO*, £12.90) had my interest piqued as soon as I first tried it; a mousse product with a light floral scent and incredibly soothing when applied. The mousse comes out really, really cold, which is why I pop it in my handbag. It's perfect for when you're out and about and everything's getting a bit too hot. Applied to my legs, the cooling sensation is soothing on hot legs and I love the way it actually does crackle as you massage it in. A novelty, perhaps, but either way this keeps my legs cool, hydrated and looking perfect and summer ready!

So those are my seven steps to perfect summer legs. Do you pay extra care and attention to your legs in the summer? What are your favourite products for summer perfect legs?
