New Revlon Lip Butter Shades!

A picture of Revlon Lip Butters

If you've been reading my blog for a while now you might have read my Revlon Lip Butter Worth the Hype post I did last Summer. A huge hit when they launched early in 2012, I have quite a few in my collection and I absolutely adore them. So when Revlon released some new shades in the range, I just had to snap them up! I didn't pick up all the new shades, as some were just too sheer on me; such as Pink Lemonade which I really wanted and loved the look of, but showed up completely clear against my skin when swatched. The three shades I picked up were Wild Watermelon, Brown Sugar and Juicy Papaya.

Why do I like Revlon Lip Butters so much?
I actually own nine Revlon Lip Butters now (which seems a lot but I only ever buy them when on 3 for 2 offers in Boots), which I think is quite a few considering the shade range available here in the UK is not very big compared to the expansive shade range in America. What stands out for me with the Revlon Lip Butters is the feel of them. They really are a combination of lipstick and lip balm in one, which means I get good colour pay off but still have a moisturising product on my lips, which is great! Not a sticky or greasy product, I find these feel lightweight on my lips and I have no trouble eating or drinking with them, finding them super easy to reapply even without a mirror on hand. The shade range is also pretty lovely and I think this is a product which will appeal to both young girls dipping their toes into makeup all the way through to professional makeup artists. If you haven't tried the Revlon Lip Butters before I really recommend you pick one up!

Wild Watermelon is a very pinky toned red which honestly, looks so much like perfectly ripe watermelon. Brown Sugar, which is far darker in packaging than when on, is a lovely nude brown shade which is quite comparable to brown sugar (surprise, surprise!) and Juicy Papaya is a lovely pink coral shade which is fairly pale in pigmentation. Although each shade varies in colour pay off, they all have more than enough colour to be worn alone. I also love teaming these with my lipsticks. Wild Watermelon goes perfectly with Ronnie Red from MAC and Juicy Papaya looks lovely teamed with Over from Illamasqua!

I definitely use the Revlon Lip Butters more in the warmer months, so I'm happy to have some new shades in my collection ready for those sunny days ahead. One thing I would say though is be careful when you store them. These can very easily melt away and as an already extremely soft product, that can result in quite a mess! Try keep these out of direct sun light for sure, to avoid any sticky mishaps. Revlon Lip Butters cost £7.99 each and can be found on the Boots website. They are often on 3 for 2, so worth waiting for a Boots offer to pick them up! If you own any of the new shades, I'd love to hear your thoughts on them! Would you add any of these shades to your collection?

  6. I'm such a huge fan of Revlon's Lip Butters and I think I have at least 7 of them! I'm one of those people who just wants to collect them all but like you said, some of them really aren't worth it because they have hardly any pigmentation - which is such a shame! I picked up Juicy Papaya and Sorbet the other and I absolutely love them! Perfect for summer! :) xx
