Instead of a Beauty Box # 5

So far in my Instead of a Beauty Box posts I've picked up some real bargains. But of all the products I've picked each month to replace a beauty box subscription, this one has to be my favourite. The first time I popped into & Other Stories I picked up a blush, Marrabas Orange, which I was really impressed with. So when I next popped in store I decided to take a look at the other makeup & Other Stories have to offer. & Other Stories sell four different quads; Velvetine Darkness, Plush Earth,  Sateen Aubergine and Charmeuse Ivory. As soon as I set my eyes on Plush Earth, it was love at first lust. So I couldn't resist picking it up!

Plush Earth has a beautiful selection of shades. A beautiful iridescent silver white, a true gold, a deep mauve brown and a more earthy gold. All of the shades are shimmer shades, but not so much that it is a glitter party or over powering! All of the shades are buttery soft, but with no fall out. The pigmentation is pretty darn good and you need very little for full impact on your lids. All of the shades are super easy to blend and the shades work so well together. This quad for me is a real summertime golden treat, with neutral earthy tones with a touch of summer glow.

I'm definitely impressed and at just £12 for the quad, which is pretty darn big too, I think this is an investment well made. I'd quite like to pick up the other quads & Other Stories do, as I am so impressed with this one that I am sure they will win me over too! For my second makeup piece from & Other Stories I can safely say any ideas I originally had about their prices and worry over the quality of product has been and truly been diminished. The products I've tried so far have been really impressive and I'd definitely recommend popping down to & Other Stories if you live in London, or taking a look at the & Other Stories website and picking yourself up a few staple pieces!

What is & Other Stories and why is everyone going on about it?
For those of you who don't yet know what & Other Stories is, it is a new branch off of the company Hennes and Maurtiz who also own H&M and Monki. Many people have referred to it as a more expensive H&M, but clothes and accessories aside, the quality of the beauty products far out do anything I've ever seen or tried from H&M. There is a huge variety of beauty products from & Other Stories itself, and they also stock some big brands like This Works, Dr Bronner and American cosmetics brand, theBalm.

  3. I used my & Other Stories palette in Sateen Aubergine the other week and I was disappointed with it! SO much glitter and they didn't blend too well! It's a shame because the colours are absolutely stunning, sounds like your palette is much better than mine!

    1. Such a shame that the Sateen Aubergine quad isn't very good! Maybe the quality varies between shades xo

  5. To be honest the packaging of this eye shadow quad looks a bit plasticky, so probably would have put me off purchasing. So, thanks for this post! Turns out packaging isn't everything lol.
