Illamasqua is a brand whose vivid shades, imaginative collections and powerful packaging has always grabbed my eye when browsing through the Selfridge's beauty hall. Unfortunately there isn't an Illamasqua counter anywhere near me, so I have to wait until I have a few hours free to swatch happily away in London. When the Illamasqua I'mPerfection collection was released, there was one particular piece from the collection which really caught my eye and I've spent the many months since lusting after it until I caved and just had to pick it up. The Illamasqua blush duo in Lover and Hussy is, as you may have guessed, a blusher duo of two beautifully eye-catching, bright and super wearable shades. I also adore how this blusher duo looks with my other blushes, the packaging really makes it stand out!
Both Lover and Hussy are matte finish blushers. Lover is a beautiful coral peach shade which is the shade which really caught my eye the most and had me lusting after this duo. I just adore this shade! It's very me and I adore it either alone or teamed with Hussy, a bright candy pink, for a shade with more depth. Hussy is the kind of pink that I think anyone can wear and it would be super flattering. A universal shade that would compliment any skin tone!
This has been my first time trying a blush from Illamasqua, and I'm massively impressed. Soft, easy to apply and to blend, super wearable shades and what's even better? As well as the shades being perfect for use alone, they can also be combined to make a third, equally beautiful shade which looks almost like the colour of a true sunset with the coral orange and delightful pink. I've since picked up a single blush which really caught my eye in store, in the shade Excite. A real true coral shade which I am also loving. You can find the Illamasqua I'mPerfection blusher duo in Lover & Hussy on the Illamasqua website where it costs £26. I think the price is pretty reasonable considering you get two shades, the palette itself is fairly large and it would take a long, long time to use them up (if ever!)
When did I first find out about Illamasqua?
I have to admit, it wasn't until I started blogging that I was aware of Illamasqua (which just goes to show the power of blogging and reading blogs) and the product which brought them to my attention was the S.o.p.h.i.e blusher. The blusher is sold along with a pencil liner and a charity bracelet in aid of the S.o.p.h.i.e. charity set up in memory of Sophie Lancaster. I really admire brands who do something for charity and £3 of the proceeds from the S.o.p.h.i.e. pencil liner go to the S.o.p.h.i.e. charity, which gets a big thumbs up from me!
