Mostly due to reading rave reviews on other blogs, I have been lusting after a NARS blush for a long time now, months and months even. But each time I popped into Space NK and had a little swatch of the NARS blushes, there just wasn't one which caught my eye. I've never been drawn to the ever popular Orgasm, finding it a bit of a samey and easily duped shade which doesn't even make much of an impact against my skin tone, and the shade which catches my eye the most in the pan, Taj Mahal, is far too vividly orange for my skin tone. I was at a loss, wanting to try a NARS blush and finding none which suited my skin. That was until I went to Liberty.
Much to my happy surprise, Liberty seem to have a more extensive range of NARS blush shades that my local Space NK. Gilda was the first shade that caught my eye, as I have been after a perfect peachy coral shade. From first swatch, it was love. I've finally found the perfect NARS blush for me. A completely matte blush, I adore this blush for adding a pop of colour to my cheeks and particularly when teamed with my Bobbi Brown Apricot blush (review to come soon!).
So what do I think to NARS blushes now I have tried them? Well for starters, it's lovely to have a colour as close to the shade of blush I have been hunting for, particularly so a matte blush as I think every now and then it's good to get away from the shimmer. I love the almost dreamy soft texture of this blush too, and find it very easy to apply and blend. For my first NARS blush, I think I've picked a winner!
Do you own any NARS blushes? What is your favourite shade?
You can find NARS Gilda on the Liberty website here and it costs £21.50.
