For this month's Beauty on a Budget post I wanted to cover mascara, because for me finding a good mascara can be just as hard as finding a good foundation. Finding the perfect mascara can be even harder and sometimes you can go through brand after brand, mascara after mascara, trying to find that perfect one which really makes your lashes stand out and look naturally full, long and thick. I have a couple of high-end mascaras which I think are so good I should bow down at the feet of those who made them. But a high-street mascara is often far more realistic and purse-friendly, especially considering mascaras should only be used for three months before being chucked out and replaced! Today I will be sharing four pretty purse-friendly mascaras that I think are fab!
The MUA Mega Volume Lash mascara is super purse friendly at just £3 and it definitely gives me volume! I was super impressed, and surprised, the first time I used this, to see just how good it was. If you want a really purse-friendly mascara that lengthens your lashes and gives them a bit of volume too, this is the one to get!
One which isn't readily available in the UK but you might be lucky to find in a TKMaxx store like I did, is the Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara. I managed to pick up two in my local store for £3.99 each, so a real bargain! And it is fantastic for lengthening and opening/spreading out my lashes. I can see why it's such a hit in America!
Neve do some fantastic eye-shadows (read my reviews here and here) so I was thrilled to get to try out their Occhioni mascara*. It's the most expensive mascara in this post at £10.95, but I am in love! I've been using it for a few months and actually just finished it, so it's on my list to pick up again. But it makes my lashes look so full and thick, and I've even been asked if I was wearing false lashes whilst using this!!
And last but not least, and the high-street mascara I am literally head over heels besotted with, Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express. This mascara is amazing!! I was a bit reluctant to pick it up as I've haven't been impressed by Maybelline mascaras in the past and it's not massively cheap at £7.99, but it is so worth it and I cannot recommend this mascara enough! It lengthens, it opens up/spreads out my lashes, it makes them look full and thick and it doesn't smudge at all. It is by far my favourite high-street mascara at the moment!
