Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel

If you've been blogging a while then you will remember like me, how much the Origins Super Spot Remover has been a raved about product over the past year or so. It is a bit of a cult product where skincare products for spots and blemishes are concerned, and so I've been dying to try it out. The only thing stopping me from trying this blemish treatment gel, is the fact I very rarely get spots or blemishes. So I had this in my skincare cupboard a fair while before being able to give it ago. But, thanks to my ever changing skin, I've had a few blemishes lately and finally got to test this out to see if it could help!

The Origins Super Spot Remover, which comes in an adorably cute little blue 10ml bottle, works to fight, fade and heal spots and blemishes. By applying just a small dab of the treatment gel on your spots or blemishes, the blemish-busting salicylic acid instantly helps speed healing while anti-spot technology helps visibly correct post blemish darkening. With skin-calming caffeine and red algae which help visibly relieve irritating redness and super exfoliators which help skin look spotless by eliminating excess oils and pore-clogging debris.

This is quite a thick gel like product, so although I wouldn't recommend it for day time use (unless of course you are going makeup free for the day) it's perfect for over-night use. With a tiny, teeny amount of the product over any spots or blemishes, it almost becomes a film like treatment which covers the offending area. By morning, for me, the gel has all but gone and I notice a considerable difference in the size, irritation and appearance of spots and blemishes. Usually after just one night's use I find it's gotten rid of those offending spots and blemishes, and at most, two night's does the job. It's a truly wonder product! If you have spots or blemishes and want a quick and super effective way to banishing them, this is the treatment for you. And because you use just the tiniest amount, although it's such a small bottle, it's bound to last absolutely ages. You can find the Origins Super Spot Remover over on the Boots website and a 10ml bottle costs £15.

  2. Great review! Like you I have quite well behaved skin, so I can never decide whether to buy this or stick to my trusty pot of Sudocrem!

  3. I might give this another go, I bought it a while back along with the facial wash, toner and moisturiser (i went the whole hog!), I had a bad reaction as think my skin was tad sensitive, i bet the spot remover used with my usual products would be effective though.
    Great review

    1. Sometimes when you add a lot of new products to your skincare routine, you're skin can kick up a fuss! Give it another go and let me know how you get on with it :) xo

  4. I've got this and I think it works well over quite big blemishes. It does sometimes leave a big of a scab though, so I prefer to use Lush Grease Lightning most of the time. xo

  7. I bought this last summer, and while I like it and still use it, I don't think it is as amazing as everybody says. Obviously everybody's skin is different so it is probably more down to that than anything else....and I think it's pretty expensive.

    1. Exactly, everyone's skin is different and will react differently to products! I think it's reasonably priced, but for me who doesn't get spots or blemishes often, it will last ages. It may not be as purse-friendly for those who suffer with them more often! xo

  8. This has to be my favourite go-to product for spot-busting! Like you, i don't get many but when i do I always pop this on. If you catch them early sometimes they don't even surface. Amazing. I also use Superdrugs Tea Tree stick - such a good little multipurpose budget buy i use it on any redness and it seems to calm it :) x

  12. I absolutely LOVE Spot Remover, and one bottle does last for-ever! It seems to be quite a bit more expensive in the UK, though.
