No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush

I am so, so excited to share this review with you all today.

I have been intrigued by the Clarisonic ever since I started blogging. As a self confessed skincare addict, the idea of the Clarisonic really appealed to me. But with the cheapest Clarisonic model costing a huge £100, it just wasn't something I was willing to part with my pennies for. I often buy expensive skincare (although in my eyes its an expense well spent!) But £100 is a completely different story when you don't know how the product is going to work for you.

So imagine my delight when Sophie from Candy Cane Heart told me all about the No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush she'd picked up from Boots and was loving. I knew I had to give it a go and a few days later whilst out shopping with Hayley from Wife Life Beauty xo, I just had to pick it up. Luckily for me, it was at a super purse-friendly introductary price of just £15 (seriously, can you believe it?!)

No7 have brought out a Clarisonic dupe which I think is going to be a bloody huge hit!

So, how do you use the No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush?

Step 1 - Remove your makeup
Step 2 - Apply your cleanser as normal, leaving your cleanser generously covering your forehead, cheeks and chin.
Step 3 - Wet the brush head and press the power button. The cleansing brush offers a choice of two speeds. Pressing the button twice will increase the brush speed and will offer a deeper clean.
Step 4 - Gently massage your face with small circular movements focusing on your forehead, cheeks and chin for 30 seconds each.
Step 5 - Rinse your face with warm water.

Now, it does suggest you use a No7 cleanser with it but that's expected - Any product like this will endorse it's own brand of products. I haven't been using any No7 skincare products with this. If I am using this in the morning I will use it with my Kiehl's UItra Facial Cleanser (review to come soon!) and if in the evenings, with my Organic Surge Daily Care Face Wash. After removing my makeup I will use this as directed.

I have now been using this for a month and the results I have seen from it have been a bit of a rollercoaster ride! The first night I used this it was beautiful. My skin was left looking clear and clean, and feeling incredibly soft. After using it the first time that night, I then used it again the following morning and night. And this was a mistake. A product like this is a brilliant aid in your skincare routine but it needs to be used in moderation. From using it two nights and a morning in a row, I ended up with an extremely dry section on my right cheek that felt rough, dry and flaky. It left me self conscious, not a nice feeling. That kind of put me off of using it for a few days, as I was convinced it was the cause. And it was, but purely from my over use of it.

When I then started using it again, the dry, rough, flaky skin on my right cheek disappeared straight away. I now use this on an almost nightly basis, and the difference in my skin is amazing. My pores are no longer clogged (except on the very sides of my nose), my skin is soft, smooth and looks as good as it feels. Makeup applies better and lasts longer, I feel like my skincare products also work better now since using this. I think this is an amazing skincare tool and I am so, so happy with it. Despite using eye makeup remover, a cleasing water, and my normal cleanser, when I then use this makeup still comes off on the brush head which shows that no matter how much we think our skin is clean after cleansing, there is still makeup there to come off! I just love this so much and could not recommend it enough!

There is only one downside to this product and that is that it doesn't have a cover to cover the brush head with when you aren't using it, which I hope No7 will have the sense to release soon as it's important to keep this bacteria free. Also, I know a lot of people worry about the purging stage that a lot of people do experience with products like this. But I can say for me personally, I didn't experience one.

This is now at it's regular retail price, but still a quarter of the price of a Clarisonic at just £24.95. You can find it on the Boots website here. Will you be picking one up?

  1. I picked this up a while ago too! I love it but I have quite sensitive skin so tend to only use it a couple of times a week otherwise my skin goes sore.
I absolutely love it though, I agree with you, makeup lasts longer and looks better after using this!
I'm so glad I picked it up at £15 - absolute bargain :)

  12. How do you think that this will work on breakout prone skin? I've been tempted to try it and I've even picked it up in Boots a couple of times but talked myself out of it and ended up putting it back on the shelf! Do you think it will irritate sensitive skin?

    Thanks,

  15. I may actually get one, anything that will help alter my blooming pores *grumblegumble*. I can really see this being a massive hit, especially if the Clarisonic is around £100! (for some reason I had £70 stuck in my head, no idea).
