MUA Undress Me Too; a let down.

When MUA announced the release of their newest palette, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. With the slightly risky name of Undress Me Too, this palette has been dubbed the Naked 2 dupe. Like most MUA palettes, the palette contains 12 shades with a mix of both shimmer and matte shades.

I thought, like when I purchased the Undressed palette from MUA, that this palette would also wow me and surpass my expectations. And there are a few shades which I really love from the palette, such as Fiery and Shy. But for the most part? It hasn't wowed me and made it's way into my favourite palettes pile.

I can't deny that MUA does have good quality products for the price. Their prices are some of the lowest on the UK high-street and I do love and often use their eye-shadow palettes. But I just found this one a little lacking. Perhaps I miss the days when MUA palettes were colour themes all of their own thought, and not a dupe of higher end products. And I find some of the shades in the palette lacking in the usual lasting power I've come to expect from MUA. Of course, this is an utterly bargain palette at £4 and I do use it every now and then, I just don't think it is the best palette MUA have to offer. In fact, I could happily live without it. It hasn't impressed me like the Undressed palette did. And it's possibly even put me off of MUA for a while; I love high-street dupes of high-end products. But I prefer originality in a brand, lasting power in their products and stand alone colours. And this doesn't tick any of those boxes.

You can find this palette on the MUA website here.

Have you picked up the newest palette to join the MUA family? What are your thoughts on it?

  1. At first I liked the sound of it but I didn't buy it because like you said, I also miss their originality. I feel like the shades it it aren't any special really. It is a lovely palette but I'd much prefer MUA coming out with maybe their own crazy shades!

    1. I have so many palettes from when MUA first did palettes, that have beautiful shades in and are not dupes of higher-end products, and I love them! I wish they would have belief in their own brand as themselves, not an imitation of others. xo

    1. I think if you have Naked 2 then for sure, you don't need this. It's a poor dupe anyway! xo

  4. I have the NAKED 2 palette and tbh it's just ok! The shadows are fabulous as is standard with UD but I feel the shades are more suited to those with cooler undertones xx

    1. I think so too - I have the Naked and Naked Basics and for me, they are perfect! xo

  5. I must admit, i am the exact same. I found that they lacked in pigmentation compared to usual, and the lasting power wasn't as great.

    1. You should give UD a go! I think their shadows are hands down, the best there is! :) xo

  9. I haven't bought this, I'm tempted for the price, but the shades haven't grabbed me like the original Undressed shades xx

    1. It's definitely a great, purse-friendly palette. But the quality reflects the price on this one xo

  10. I am not sure how MUA has passed me by but I honestly have never owned any of their products. I'm a relative newbie to make-up, having only recently purchased my first set of brushes, so something like this would be perfect to practice with before moving on to better products!

  11. I have the first Undressed pallet and bought it recently but I'm really unimpressed. I mean, for £4 it's a bargain but they really don't last. I prefer the solo £1 MUA eyeshadows which last all day and have incredible colour payoff.

  12. I adore how honest you have been about this product. I still may give it a go as its only £4. Thanks for a great review.

  13. I got it for £3, and for that price I can't complain. x I like it actually. I'm a trainee psychotherapist, so I like its subtle colours for during the day.x

  14. I was bitterly disappointed with the matte shade 2nd from right on the top row. It's totally unusable. I had high hopes for this palette but I can't see why they put such a crappy shade in - it looks like they rushed it out before it was ready. There is a lovely taupe on the bottom row and a few other nice shades, but I think I prefer the Undressed palette. I'll be getting the real Naked 2 palette I think! x x

    1. Me too. After falling in love with the Undressed palette, and tbh all their other palettes, I expected this one to be just as good. Yet it completely let me down! Sometimes the real thing is worth the investment :) xo

  15. I know you say it has failed to wow you because of the colour collection (not being original) and staying power, but I found this palette to be very similar to the Undressed palette I bought last year (in terms of longevity etc). I think the only thing I'm disappointed in is the new look packaging which looks far more economy than their previous look.

Colour Scheme originality isn't high on my priorities for a product, as you can get most colours from most places, but its good to see a different view - Hopefully the MUA price/quality ratio isn't going to slip as their reputation grows.

    1. I'm glad you found it to be as good as the Undressed palette. I wish I also did! I definitely agree about the packaging, I much prefer the black palettes and I'm not too keen on the new white packaging as I think it definitely reflects the price. xo

  17. I find that they are bringing out the neutral palletes too often. I love undresses and heaven and earth but after trying this one I'm not impressed and there isn't anything more special about this than the other palletes ! xo

    1. I don't think it's special at all. I am feeling really let down by MUA lately. I miss their original ideas! xo
