theBalm Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter Review

For almost a year I thought the Topshop Highlighter in Sunbeam was my perfect highlighter. Oh, how wrong I was! Mary-Lou Manizer from theBalm is the perfect highlighter and tops any highlighter I've ever used, ever. It's an absolute must-have for any highlighter fan and is the perfect all-rounder, working with any look. This is one highlighter every beauty adorer needs in their beauty stash!

I have become a serious fan of theBalm products over the past few months. The theBalm Bon Jovi Rockstar palette is one of my most reached for palettes, theBalm Meet Matt(e) palette is another favourite, as is theBalm Frat Boy Blusher. Mary-lou Manizer is an oil-free and paraben-free pressed face powder, which can be used for an all-over glow, as a highlighter to enhance your features, as an eye-shadow or to highlight your brow bone.

I find myself reaching for this most days now, drawn to it everytime I'm looking for a highlight with that something-something. I mainly use it to highlight my cheeks and brow bone, and it's also subtle enough for a subtle highlight down the centre of my nose and my cupid's bow. The powder is soft and ultra fine, which makes it very easy to pick up with most makeup brushes (I like to use my Real Techniques Contour Brush to apply) and even easier to blend to a gorgeous finish. With a beautiful golden tone to it, which comes across very flattering and I would even go so far as to say it's my favourite highlighter when going for a golden summer look, but want to add that something extra to make my look subtly pop.

  3. I've never tried any products from theBalm, however I really like the look of this!

The retro packaging is gorgeous :)

I've just purchased the MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter. Which gives an effect very similar to your swatches. I'm quite enjoying that at the moment and bargain for the price!

  9. I swatched this highlighter at the drugstore once because everyone had been raving about it but it's SO pigmented that it actually scared me, haha. I had to really work to blend it out and ended up looking like a disco ball:/ Oh well, I'm glad you liked it though and it's become a favorite! My favorite is Soft & Gentle :) xx
