My Top 5 | January 2013

Top 5 Beauty Products of January 2013

Essentially the same as a favourites post, but instead of picking as many products as I wanted (the amount I had in some of my monthly favourites post was ridiculous!) I was going to limit myself to five products only each month to be my Top 5 products of the month. And this is the very first Top 5 post! Deciding on which products to chose was far harder than I realised - limiting myself to five products meant I had to think carefully about which products I had really, really enjoyed using this month!

January has seen me reaching for my Revlon Kissable Lip Balm Stains again and the shade I have been reaching for the most has been my favourite shade of all the range, Romantic. I just love how easy they are to apply, how long lasting they are and how the colour can be built up. Romantic is a gorgeous deep cherry red shade and it's been far better for my lips in this harsh weather than my lipsticks, as it's really moisturising. Another product I've been loving due to the harsh weather is the L'Occitane Limited Edition Honey Whipped Body Cream. The scent is just so utterly soothing and warming and the way it sinks into my skin is so lovely. It's truly one of the best body care products I've ever used!

I've found myself reaching for my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette above all other palettes and shadows lately and I just find it such an easy to wear palette. The shades are typical of Urban Decay shadows; soft, creamy, blend-able, and the variety of looks you can create is endless. I love using Venus to highlight my brow and inner corner, W.O.S is a favourite for a base shade all over the lid and Faint is lovely for creating just a subtle smokey shade in the crease. It's quite possibly one of the best palettes I've ever used. Another palette I've loved using this month is my Sleek Blush by 3 in Lace. Two shades in particular I love using is a combination of Chantilly and Guipure. I just think they work beautifully together, bringing a light flush to my cheeks with a tiny bit of shimmer. And finally, my last product in this month's Top 5 is the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer. I've had this almost a year now and I wasn't using it very often but I've found the only concealer which doesn't end up looking cakey on me right now, is this. It has two shades, one lighter shade which I use for under eye concealer and highlighting, and one darker shade which I use to conceal blemishes. It's a great product and the setting powder which comes with it is oh so very handy!

  13. I bought the kick ass concealer this time last year when it was released and it's really good, I'm not sure I'd repurchase as I've discovered Benefit's concealers and Borjois healthy mix concealer but it is nice.
I bought the L'Occitane honey hand cream today, I want everything in the range now!
Love your blog as always :) xx
