Kiehl's Nottingham Blogger Event

Kiehl's Nottingham Blogger Event

Last night I was lucky enough to attend the Nottingham Kiehl's Blogger's Gathering. A lovely evening, I learnt a lot about the history of Kiehl's, all about their huge range of products and came away with utter product-lust.

Kiehl's is a brand I have known off for a while now, and a brand whose products I often lust after, but not a brand I see spoken about much here on the blogosphere. Which is surprising, as their products are truly divine and they have a strong ethos with an inspiring history.

Some quick Kiehl's facts
Kiehl's was founded in 1851
Kiehl's was the first brand to produce a skincare line for men
Kiehl's makes huge donations to charity each year, donating 100% of sales from their charity products
Kiehl's is a cruelty free brand and has never tested on animals
Kiehl's products contain the highest quality ingredients to best benefit the skin
Kiehl's product ranges cover all ages, and all skin concerns
Kiehl's was the first brand to list all ingredients of their products on their packaging
Kiehl's products are utterly wonderful*
*personal opinion, but pretty darn true, too!

Some of the products we tested out - and my gorgeous tasting drink!

The event itself was just the most relaxed atmosphere, filled with product testing, learning of the history of Kiehl's and learning about which products are best suited to our skin (after personal Kiehl's skin consultations, might I add!) We were greeted with glasses of lovely, fruity champers, Kiehl's cupcakes and refreshments. It was just a very lovely, relaxed, friendly evening; beauty bloggers, indulging in beauty products, with tasty treats too! What more could you ask for?

A few things really grab my skincare-obsessive, beauty blogger attention when it comes to Kiehl's. Firstly, the look and feel of a Kiehl's store. Kiehl's is found in some department stores across the Country, such as Selfridges, but they have far more flagship stores and the flagship stores also have products which you can only find in their stores! Each Kiehl's store I have been in was much the same as the Nottingham branch - It felt real, and homely, and full of history and excitement. The store is adorned with memorabilia, objects which are all part of the Kiehl's history. There's a lot of character to be found in Kiehl's stores.

Another thing which excites me about Kiehl's is the look of the products, the way they are displayed, and the ingredients used. Kiehl's has a huge apothecary feel to it. Which isn't surprising considering that Kiehl's was founded as an old-World apothecary in New York over 150 years ago. There's a real sense of traditional, expert skincare with Kiehl's, which shows even more so in the detail and thought going in to each product, with the skin's best interests in mind, as well as the passionate history of Kiehl's which is still shining brightly in their staff today.

An exciting product we all got to try out and which I was really drawn to by the bright display, is the Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate. It's a line-reducing skin concentrate which contains 10.5% Vitamin C. It helps to reduce the appearance of marionette lines from the corners of the mouth, leading towards the chin. It also helps to improve the appearance of crows feet lines and wrinkles as well as sub-orbital wrinkles in the eye area and has been shown to improve skin appearance and texture. Testing this product out, I was left with skin that felt like velvet. I also found out that the reason the bottle is dark, isn't just a simple packaging ploy, but in fact, the dark bottle ensures that the Vitamin C stays beneficial for longer! This is the same through all of Kiehl's products, which are made with three-times recycled materials, and are each picked specifically for the ingredients and products inside. Even the packaging of Kiehl's products has a reason, a story and ethics!

Myself and all the girls who attended were lucky to be given goody bags and a few products to try for ourselves. I'll be sharing my thoughts with you on each of the products inside in reviews here on my blog once I have given them a thorough testing! I also picked up two Kiehl's products I had been lusting after; the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado and the Midnight Recovery Eye. I'll be sharing my thoughts on these too, after putting them to good use!

And of course, the biggest thank you to the lovely Kiehl's team who put together a really lovely evening for us. It was so nice learning the history of Kiehl's, getting to know the products better, and the time and effort put in to the event was easy to see. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of it - you are all a true credit to Kiehl's!
