Collection Shimmer Shades Shimmer Bricks

I'm not sure how relevant this review will be as I know these were raved about over the summer, but I have only recently got my hands on them (I don't know why, I'm just very lazy and stingy sometimes!) but I have been really enjoying using them so I wanted to share my thoughts with you! As that's the point of this blog, right? To share things I like and love!

These were all over the blogosphere over the summer and they seemed to be quite popular. Containing four shades each, the Collection (formerly Collection 2000) shimmer shades are come in blush and bronzer form. All four shades within each mini palette/quad is shimmery, no mattes here I am afraid!

The reason I finally picked these up is because they are so, so cheap. At just £4.19 each, they are a bit of a bargain!

The Collection Shimmer Bricks create a soft glow that lasts all day long. Perfect handbag sized little compacts, they give you a radiant, sun kissed glow with multi-tonal colour. The skin-brightening formula will enhance your natural skin colour for any occasion, illumiating the apples of your cheeks and giving a light, subtle sparkle. The bronze, named Way to Glow, and the blush, named Blushahicious, are a gorgeous addition to anyone's makeup collection!

I've liked these for a touch of colour and a bit of shimmer on days when the majority of my look is mostly matte. I know a lot of people don't like shimmer in their makeup but I quite like it. I do think these are more season appropriate, being more for Spring and summer. But I also think for those paler beauties, the Way to Glow bronzer shimmer bricks would actually be perfect for all year round as it's quite sheer and subtle. I also love that the Way to Glow comes with a couple of easy to use highlighter shades, too!

You can find both of these Shimmer Bricks on the Boots website. They costs £4.19 each.

Do you have these? What do you think to them? Tell me what your favourite Collection product is!

  2. I had the old version of this bought from the poundshop! I thought it was a lot nicer in the old style (where the colours made a picture of a flower) and the shades were lighter and more highlighting, in fact it was just a completely different product by collection with the same name haha.

  7. I have the shimmer block but I just can't get to grips with it. I always end up with a dark line across my face no matter how hard I try blend it out... I bought it 'coz Louise (sprinkle of glitter) did a tutorial on it. X
