Shopping the stash #1 Reviews

On Monday I did my very first 'Shopping the Stash' post here on my blog. It's a post I have wanted to do for quite a while now but I just never got round to it. I have decided to do these posts every week, but to do them a little bit differently to other bloggers. As I said in the 'Shopping the stash' post on Monday, which you can read here, I also want to create FOTD looks using the products I pick each week, and then review the products overall each Sunday. This is the first of the 'Shopping the stash reviews'!

So this week I picked a total of 12 products for my 'Shopping the stash'. On reflection, I have realised just how much that actually is! It's a lot of makeup. But I wanted to pick products which I could create almost an entire look from. So after a week of using these products, what do I think of them now? Well for starters, I think it's fair to say I didn't use the Sleek lipstick in Coral Reef nor the Sleek Blush by 3 palette in Pumpkin; but I did use everything else. 9/11 isn't bad!

I really liked using both the 17 eyes trios again and I've actually missed using them. Particularly Vengence. You can just create such versatile looks with both, including neutral, every-day looks, to itnense, sultry smokey eyes. It all boils down to how you use them, how you apply and how confident you are with experimenting. I liked wearing the Sleek Peaches & Cream lipstick, but I have to admit, if anything it put me off of the Sleek lipsticks more. I love the colour range that Sleek do in their lipsticks, but I find them just that touch too creamy and slippy when on. I did enjoy using the Sleek single blush in Pomegranate though and I have decided how much I think this will be a perfect shade for Autumn/Winter, as it's so warm and beautiful.

I am so glad I added the Benefit Erase Paste to this week's 'Shopping the Stash' because when I first got it, I wasn't sure on it. I found the texture hard to work with. But I have used it everyday this week and utterly fallen in love with it, particularly for under my eyes. I used the No7 Beautiful Skin BB cream a couple of times and I do still like it, but I think I need to gain more confidence with BB creams, as I still put my powder on afterwards, which kind of deemed the purpose of the BB cream worthless. But it is a lovely BB cream and suits my skin tone perfectly. My MAC foundation was one I enjoyed using again, but I kind of just want to finish it up now because for a high-end foundation, I don't think it is as good as my many high-street foundations.

The No7 eyeliner is still my favourite black eyeliner and I was happy to be using it again, but I really enjoyed using the Inika eyeliner again and now want to try a black from their range, to see if I like it more than the No7 liner, which I have repurchased for years. And finally, the Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara. I still love it! It makes my lashes look big, but natural at the same time. And I will definitely be using it more often.

So after a week of reusing some old, forgotten products, these are my thoughts on them after using them again. I will be posting my second 'Shopping the Stash' post tomorrow, so look out for it to see which products I will be using this week!

  2. Have you tried blotting with tissue after applying the Sleek lipsticks? It might just take away enough of the product to make it less creamy x
