August 2012 Empties

As August went on, I didn't think I'd actually managed to collect that many empties. Oh how I was wrong! When digging everything out of my empties bag for this post, I realised I had actually gotten through a huge amount of products again! A total of 23 products! So what did I use up in August?

Soap & Glory Flake Away
I have repurchased this body scrub so many times over the years, but I think I have finally gone off of it. I much prefer The Breakfast Scrub that Soap & Glory do! As well as the more natural body scrubs available.

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo
This was a joint effort between me and my partner to use this up. I have decided I am no longer a Herbal Essences fan!

Clariol Nice'n Easy ColourReal Conditioning Gloss
I have lots of these small tubes lying around so I am trying to use them up! This leaves my hair feeling lovely and soft.

Original Source Shea Butter and Honey Body Wash
I loved the scent of this but I found in comparison to other body washes from Original Source, it just didn't lather up as much and didn't go as far when using it. I was glad to see this gone!

Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day Shampoo
This is one of my favourite shampoos and for the past couple of month's during my 100 Day Challenge I've been using it very sparingly because I knew I wouldn't be able to replace it. But then I was lucky enough to win one, as well as the matching conditioner, in a giveaway! So I finished this bottle up!

Leonor Greyl Volumising Shampoo
I got this in a Jolie box and I was so excited to use it as volume is what my hair lacks. Unfortunately I found this a horrible shampoo to use. It didn't lather, it felt greasy and it was impossible to rinse out. I won't be looking in to buying the full sized version.

Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint (Sample)
I've heard so many great this about the Liz Earl Sheer Skin Tint but I have to admit - I see why it's raved about!

Original Source Lavender and Tea Tree Body Wash
This is such a refreshing body wash and has such a lovely scent! Me and my partner both enjoyed using this!

Sure Crystal Clear 48 Hour Protection Deodorant
Nothing much to say here except it's the deodorant I repurchase the most!

Balance Me Rose Body Butter
I was sent a small sample pot of the new to be launched Rose Body Butter from Nourish, it was so lovely!

Space NK Laughter Body Lotion
As I am a Space NK N Dulge member, on my birthday they sent me a lovely body lotion. It took a bit of effort to get it to sink in but the sent was lovely. I cut the tube to make sure I got every last bit out!

Betty Buff Besty Zesty Sugar Scrub
I finished the Best Zesty sugar scrub I was sent by Betty Buff. It was so lovely!

Soap & Glory Greatest Scrub of All
I have a confession - I didn't finish this. It's been laying around in my bathroom for so, so long and I just didn't like it. So I decided to chuck it!

No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara
This definitely needing chucking out. It was old and I hadn't used it in ages. I have to be honest; I didn't like this mascara.

MAC Zoom Lash Mascara
As with the No7 mascara, this one didn't wow me. I expected a lot from it as it is a MAC mascara but I was wrong. I wouldn't repurchase this.

Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Mascara
There is a trend with these mascaras, as I didn't like this one either. I'm not sure if S&G do other mascaras, if they do I may check them out, but this one wasn't for me.

Bath & Shower Gel
Unfortunately I don't know the brand for this one but it was just a simple body wash. It was pleasant to use!

The Body Shop Facial Buffer
This is one of my holy grail skincare items. I love it. I've actually repurchased this and I've reviewed it on the blog before, which you can read here

Weleda Sea Buckthorn Creamy Body Wash
I really love the range of body washes that Weleda do and this has such a gorgeous scent to it that sticks around all day, especially if you use the matching body oil. I've reviewed this particular Weleda body wash here

The Body Shop Body Butters
I finished two small tubs of body butters from The Body Shop this month, both of which I adore and would repurchase. The Mango scented one is one of my favourites, and the Dreams Unlimited one is so lovely before bed after a pampering bath.

Benefit PoreFessional
This is a little sample I got from a Benefit counter and I will be reviewing PoreFessional on the blog soon. This tiny sample actually lasted me around two months and I cut it open to make sure I got every last bit out!

Rimmel London Match Perfection Ultra Creamy Compact Powder
I use this every single day and I already have another one I am using now that this has finished. This was a battle of wills to finish. I made sure every last speck of it was used up! It was pretty satisfying to be honest!

So those are my August empties! Quite a lot, right? I love using things up and seeing at the end of each month just how much I've got through. It makes me feel like my collection of ever growing makeup, body care, hair care and skincare products are being put to good use! If you'd done an empties post this month or even a video, I'd love to see it, so make sure you link it below! Do you use any products here? Tell me your thoughts on them!

  3. I finished a smaller pot of flake away this month, but I can't say I liked it. You used up so many products, it puts my efforts to shame! You can find my post over at www.pushpineappleshakeatree.blogspot.com xo

  4. Benefit PoreFesssional is brilliant! The only problem for me is that when you're 16 and don't have a job, your budget doesnt really stretch that far, so I'm trying to make my little sample tube last until my birthday, and then i can ask for some more haha!
Ps-have you ever thought about doing YouTube videos? (If you do, is your channel name TattooedTeaLady?) :-) xo

  7. I stopped using Herbal Essences after the last one gave me itchy scalp. I adore the little nice&easy conditioners. They are absolutely amazing and really cheap. I got the S&G mascara in a magazine and I don't really like it either. The Porefessional is a great primer, but it is soooo expensive!

I can't believe you used up 23 products. I used up 5 this month so I will skip august and do my empties joined with September ones. I am planning to use up loads of stuff :)

  8. I don't own any of this products and haven't tried them (yet). I love those "empties" posts, they are like short reviews, maybe I should start writing them too :)
And I really like your blog. :)

    Have a lovely day.

  9. I always thought that nobody uses more products up in a month than Estée from essiebutton BUT now you are definitely the new Queen of the Empties. :D

The Soap & Glory Shampoo sounds lovely. I didn't actually know that they do Shampoos as well... I have to add it to my Wishlist. :)

  10. I actually like Herbal Esscenses. I have thick curly hair and it's one of the only shampoos that doesn't manage to knot my hair :/ And the POREfessional samples are amazing aren't they? I've had mine for about a month now and maybe only half is gone! Can't imagine finishing so much in a month! :)

  15. @Amber I'm not sure I'd buy the full size. I have two more samples to use up. But it's not my favourite primer xo

  16. @Beauty Bird The Breakfast Scrub smells amazing! I always think of The Breakfast Club when I pick it up though :) Me neither, the price is a lot I think, for a primer xo

  17. @Sandra Definitely agree, plus the brunette one is great for brunette hair, and it doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy or horrible! I've just got in to the swing of things using stuff up, I think it may be an addiction now, ha :) I look forward to your empties post xo

  18. @Deja Thank you :) And you should - I find them good to read as you, like you said, get a quick run down of the product! xo

  19. @Hermione Aha, some of these I had help from the fella with though, like some of the body washes! Stuff like hair products, body washes, scrubs etc, get used everyday so quickly run out! They do! And a conditioner :) And I also think they may do a conditioning treatment, but don't quote me on that! :) xo

  20. @Jessica I used to adore Herbal Essences but the past year, not so much. Now I use more natural hair products which I find work better with my hair! The PoreFessional lasts ages if you just use it on the areas you need it :) xo
