The 100 Day Challenge - Update # 11

Can you really believe I have been doing this challenge for 12 weeks now? That's 84 days, if you were wondering. There's just two weeks to go. Lets get this week's wish list out of the way first!

I've been interested in Lipcote for a while now, wondering if it really does do the job at keeping your lipstick perfect all day long! And the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush is one I've been lusting after for a while!

So with my wish list out of the way, I suppose it's confession time....

So on Thursday I went shopping. I had my birthday present, which was a £20 Boots card, still to use. So I headed to Boots with that in my hand, to see what there was for me to buy. Alas, £20 did not cover what I picked up... Real Techniques brushes are currently buy one get one half price in Boots. And I just couldn't resist! So I bought the Starter Set, which I have been wanting for ages, and got the Foundation Brush for half price. I also popped into The Body Shop and picked up a new facial buffer, as mine had worn down too much to use, and a charity lip butter. Then... (yes, there's more) I popped to New Look and treated myself to two new beautiful necklaces, which were buy one get one free.

So, taking away the £20 which was a gift card, I personally spent around £20 on things I shouldn't have as they are not allowed within my challenge rules. But considering that, plus £2 I mentioned in a previous update, I don't think it's all that bad. I have so far managed three months, where all I have spent, other than around £22, has been stuff allowed within my personal rules on the challenge. That is a huge change in how my spending habits used to be before this challenge, where I'd easily spend £100-£200 each time I went shopping. So I don't really feel guilty about it, if I'm honest!

I'm determined to make the next two weeks, also the last two weeks on the challenge, a success. I'm going to stop myself from purchasing anything else. And I am going back to sticking to the rules without any exceptions. If you are doing the challenge I would love to hear how you too are getting on with it! So let me know below!!

  2. Well done on doing it for so long!
I start in September when I go back to uni and I'm bricking it!
I love Lipcote, it really does work for making your lipstick stay. It does turn glossy lipsticks quite matte, and doesn't taste that nice when you go to eat something, but if it's for a night out it's perfect :)
Ooh I'm gonna have to go to Boots now I know that they're buy one get one half price!

I think £22 is great over the amount of time you have done, plus, it was your birthday! :)

I will try again when I go back to university in September, hopefully my dissertation will keep me too busy :P

  7. I've been using Lipcote for a while and don't dare wear lipstick out to a meal/drinks without it. Works really well for me but I'd recommend making sure you don't have dry lips beforehand, as that's when the flaking starts! x

  8. I think its amazing you've done almost 100 days with no buying anything so don't give yourself a hard time for getting the things! :) I have the expert face brush and it is amazing! I really want to try the lipcote too, but I've put myself on a 30 day spending ban aha xxx

  9. I've been watching since around week two and have had a long hard look at my own spending habits. I've cut my spending dramatically, and am finding myself thinking twice about whether I need something before I buy it. I think it's fab that you spend such a small amount and don't feel guilty! What a lovely feeling!

  10. Oh I love that RT brush! (I love them all...) but that one I use for my mineral foundation and it really does give that 'airbrush' look. Amazing!
I am so impressed with how well you've done with this challenge!

  12. I can't believe it's only 2 weeks until you've finished! It's gone so quick. But I got that lipcote in my Glossybox (which I've cancelled my subscription to) and I'm still yet to try it! I also need to look through your beauty box subscriptions post & see which one I'm going to snap up next! xo
