Nourish Skincare | The Balance Range

Over the past few month's I have been making a real concious effort to look into more natural, organic, animal and planet friendly brands, especially where skincare is concerned. If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that skincare is incredibly important to me. I truly believe that looking after your skin at an early age is one of the most important things you can do. Prevention is key, and I would rather look after my skin now, than pay for it later down the line when imperfections are harder to mask with make up. The more you look after your skin, the better condition it will be in, looking and feeling better. Then when you do choose to wear make up (which I am sure for anyone obsessed with make up like I am, is most days) your make up will look better, too. Our faces are the first thing people notice about us, they display our personalities, emotions and life experience. I want to take care of mine.

One brand I took a huge interest in when researching more natural and organic brands, was Nourish. So when I received an email asking me whether I'd like to try some of their products, I was absolutely thrilled!

Nourish skincare avoids the use of unfriendly chemicals such as synthetic colours, TEA, DEA, parabens, phenoxyetol, sulfates, mineral oils, PEGS and silicone's. Nourish skincare uses organic, plant derived, scientifically tested ingredients to enhance and nourish your skin. There are four ranges within the Nourish skincare range, each is colour and scent coded, to make it easier for you to identify your skins needs, a range for each skin type. All of the products I have been trying out are from the Balance range.

The balance range uses a blend of ingredients with hydrating properties. It is designed for oily and combination skin and was created to recover the natural lipid barrier and help even the skin tone. It is a range consisting of a special blend of balancing apply extracts and ingredients with hydrating properties, consisting of a multi-vitamins complex (vitamin E, C, B3, B5 and B6) and special minerals. It nurtures your skin, both moisturising and nourishing with vitamins and minerals. Vitamin E is a powerful natural antioxidant which protects our DNA and other cell structures from free radicals and provides moisturisation. Vitamin C is a highly effective antioxidant which supports elastin and collagen syntheses. Vitamin B3 is known to stimulate blood circulation and for it's synthesis of hormones and proteins, whereas Vitamin B5 helps to maintain moisture levels and recover tissue damage, whilst Vitamin B6 is an essential element for normal cell functioning.

Nourish Balance infuses the skin with minerals, leaving it clean, refreshed and hydrated. It removes toxins and impurities from the skin, and also tightens and tones, improving blood circulation and hydrating the skin. Perfect for oily or combination skin, this blend of apple extracts, vitamins and minerals helps restore equilibrium.

There are four products from the Balance range that I have been using, along with a Nourish treatment product.

Balance Detoxifying Cleanser*
This is a gentle cream cleanser which effectively removes make-up and harmful pollutants that damage the skin. It is also 94% organic!! I find this cleanser really gentle, and it's been a huge change from the cleansers and face washes I have been used to. I apply a couple of bumps of this to a cotton wool pad and wipe all over my face, before rinsing off with a flannel using cold water. I don't use this to remove my make up, as I use Bioderma for that. But overall this is a really pleasant cleanser to use. The consistency isn't too thick nor too liquidy, just the perfect mix to evenly spread over your face and let it do it's job.

Balance Refining Toning Mist*
A refreshing toner that balances the skins pH levels, closes pores and prepares skin for the next stage of nourishment, this product is 97% organic. For the first few days I sprayed this directly onto my face, but I am a nuisance for always jumping if I spray something directly onto my face (ok, I give you 10 seconds to laugh at me.. done? Ok lets move on) so after a few days I instead turned to spraying a few sprays of this onto a cotton pad then wiping it all over my face. It is incredibly gentle to use and doesn't leave my skin feeling soaked like a lot of toners I have used, it soaks in quickly and beautifully.

Balance Nutritious Peptide Serum*
I've never used a serum before so this was a completely new addition to my skincare routine. A targeted vitamin and mineral blend to optimise skin nutrition and vitality. This serum brightens the complexion and diminishes signs of ageing, as well as being 80% organic. This serum is amazing, and there is so much of it! I use just less than one full pump and evenly apply it to my face and neck, gently massaging it in until it has all soaked in (as I found that if I did this too quickly, it did turn slightly white on the skin making it harder to sink in)

Balance Essential Moisturiser*
If you have oily skin you will know how difficult it is to find a moisturiser than does it's job without adding extra oil to your skin. Well this, is a wonder moisturiser. It fortifies with vitamins to support the skin's metabolism and restore moisture blanace. With a unique blend of ingredients it regulates the sebum production and is 89% organic. I have adored using this, it sinks in so quickly, without leaving a sticky residue like a lot of moisturisers do. It makes my skin feel so soft, and nourished!

Argan Skin Rescue Treatment*
This product enhances collagen and natural skin lipids to help protect from the signs of aging and restore skin when in distress. It's active ingredients combat the formulation of wrinkles by strengthening the protein and bonding structures. It neutralises harmful free radicals and reduces the blotchiness and scarring associated with injury, acne, eczema and psoriasis. It inhibits dehydration and simultaneously brings the skin back to equilibrium. This is the only product I received that I haven't used everyday, but instead every few days before I go to bed. I gently massage this into my skin and it leaves my face feeling so soft, as well as making my skin tone appear more even. It's unlike any product I have used before!

I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed using all of these products. They smell absolutely amazing, with a scent of fresh apples which can be seen throughout the entire Balance range. They are light, easily sink in to the skin and leave my skin feeling soft, nourished and supple. I have also noticed an incredible difference in my skin since using these products. My skin feels firmer, it looks healthier and younger, and best of all? It battles my oily skin. The changes I have seen in the level of oil on my skin since using this range, is miraculous. I never expected it to be such a saviour for my troublesome skin but it has been, and I adore Nourish for being a brand which has finally helped me combat my oily skin, something which has embarrassed me and bothered me every day for as long as I can remember. And lets not forget asthetics. I love the way these products are packaged and displayed. They look organic and natural, which they are. Each product is packaged in an incredibly easy to use format and the theme of apples running throughout the packaging of the Balance range is a beautiful, subtle touch. I am still playing around with my skincare right now, finding the perfect combination for me. But I have a feeling most, if not all of these products, are going to be my staple skincare products from now on. I just can't believe the change I've seen in my skin since using them!
